Arcadia-7, the planet in StarRupture, is a dangerous place. Players will face threats like hostile creatures, a planet-wide destructive event called the Rupture, and poisonous environments. One specific challenge is corrosive gas that blocks access to certain areas. Luckily, StarRupture offers ways to increase your resistance to corrosion, allowing you to fully explore the planet.
How to Increase Corrosion Resistance in StarRupture
Okay, so I found out you can boost your corrosion resistance! You craft a Corrosion Resistance Plasma at your Food Station, but first you gotta unlock the recipe at the Recipe Station. It’s a little bit of a process, but totally worth it if you’re exploring areas with corrosive stuff.
You can unlock the Corrosion Resistance Plasm crafting recipe by placing these items into your Recipe Station:
- 40 Glowcaps
- 25 Sulhearts
- 100 Data Points
Glowcaps are a unique plant that grows only in underground caves on Arcadia-7. You can find cave entrances shortly after a heat wave ends, identified by the burned roots that once blocked the holes. Inside these caves, look for large, yellow-green, fungus-like plants – those are the Glowcaps!
Sulhearts live close to sulfur deposits on the planet Arcadia-7. You can spot these deposits by looking for large areas of yellow ground where gas is venting. If you’ve found one before, it will be highlighted in bright yellow on your map. The challenge with collecting Sulhearts is that they appear in the harmful, corrosive gas around these deposits. You’ll need to quickly run in, grab the Sulhearts, and get out before the gas damages you.
You can collect data points by adding different items to the Analyzer. Getting 100 data points is a small task and shouldn’t be difficult for this process.
After learning a recipe, you can make Corrosion Resistance Plasma at your Food Station using 3 Glow Caps and 2 Sulheart. Applying this plasma before entering a corrosive environment will double your corrosion resistance for 10 minutes. It does slightly increase your toxicity (by 40), but the effect is minimal and shouldn’t be a problem.
