In the beginning of the game, Silksong does not provide Hornet with many Health Points (HP) or Silk to empower her diverse skills. To begin with, Hornet has five HP masks and a modest amount of Silk for binding or casting silk abilities, but as you delve into Pharloom, you might find yourself desiring more HP or an expanded Silk meter in Silksong.
Just like in the original Hollow Knight, players of Silksong will need to venture deep into the expanses of Pharloom to uncover scattered fragments which can be combined to complete an HP mask or a Silk Spool in their entirety.
How to Increase Max Silk in Silksong
Get More Silk By Collecting 2x Spool Fragments
In my quest, I’ve discovered that locating two elusive Spool Fragments is key. Just like Mask Fragments, these shimmering collectibles can be found hidden in secluded spots or secret nooks – and occasionally, they might even pop up for sale in vendor stalls.
While Silk Hearts and Spool Fragments are distinct items, they both impact the Silk meter. Silk Hearts automatically refill one bar of your Silk gauge when it’s empty, but Spool Fragments serve to boost your maximum Silk level.

Floating airborne fragments resemble halves of a spindle of thread, suspended without support. These Spindle Pieces tend to emit sounds when you’re close by, encouraging you to investigate further and find their exact whereabouts.
In the game “Silksong,” a total of 18 Spool Pieces are available. By gathering these pieces, players can increase their Silk Level up to nine times. Different from Mask Fragments, in “Silksong,” players just need to find and collect two Spool Pieces to add one level to their Silk Gauge.
How to Increase Max HP in Silksong
Get More HP By Collecting 4x Mask Shards

In the game Silksong, increasing HP and acquiring more masks necessitates collecting four pieces of Mask Fragments. Similar to Silk Fragments, Mask Fragments emit a distinctive sound when Hornet approaches them. Often, you can locate Mask Fragments hidden behind breakable walls, in optional challenge zones, or offered for sale by various merchants.
As a true cinematic enthusiast, I must say, in the captivating world of Silksong, I too have discovered a fascinating item – the Lifeblood Masks. These masks, glowing a vibrant blue, serve as momentary health boosts for your character. But, here’s the twist – these temporary life sources will be shed before your regular masks return. Once they’re depleted, you won’t be able to reclaim Lifeblood Masks using the Bind skill anymore. Quite intriguing, isn’t it?

In the game of Silksong, when you gather a Mask Fragment, a section of an otherwise empty mask gets filled for the players. Once all four sections are complete, Hornet’s health points increase by one. There are 20 Mask Fragments to be found within Silksong, allowing diligent collectors to potentially acquire five extra masks if they manage to find every single Mask Fragment in the game.
