In “Grounded 2”, unique resources are accessible by eliminating certain insects scattered across the park. Although some insects aggressively attack you, others might ignore you, but they could still be valuable targets for extra crafting supplies.
Overlooked pests known as Gnats can actually be beneficial in certain situations, like when creating a bow. However, their usefulness comes from a tool called Gnat Fuzz. Interestingly, Gnats tend to congregate in specific parts of the park, making them less elusive than those that roam randomly. While locating Gnats is important, it’s just the first step; you’ll also need to eliminate them, which can be quite a task on its own.
How to get Gnat Fuzz in Grounded 2
Gnat Fuzz descends from tiny black aerial insects, characterized by their red eyes and white tufts of fur. These insects, often referred to as gnats, are usually seen hovering over stagnant bodies of water that one can wade through effortlessly. Two of these gnats become noticeable right from the initial Ranger Outpost in the game.
- Right above the first Ranger Outpost, before reaching the cave for the back entrance of the outpost.
- Northeast of the first Ranger Outpost, up a small incline.
In this region, gnats tend to stay put when you approach them and usually ignore your presence, even if you attempt to eliminate them. Being defenseless, they merely offer a moving target for you to hit. Since they are typically found above water, it’s essential to collect the gnat instead of drinking the potentially contaminated water nearby.
How to Kill Gnats in Grounded 2
Gnats are constantly in motion and are quite tiny, making them tricky to hit. They tend to fly beyond your grasp, which makes the most effective method for eliminating them a spear. Misses won’t harm your weapon, and the extended reach will be beneficial when dealing with gnats or those that are out of reach with other types of weapons. Your best bet is simply to keep aiming and swinging at them as much as possible, hoping to eventually hit, similar to Mites. Using a melee weapon will also prevent you from squandering arrows, even if it appears the gnats are too high to strike.
What is Gnat Fuzz used for in Grounded 2?
An effective method for utilizing Gnat Fuzz initially is to make a bow. Engaging in ranged combat with this weapon early on will provide an advantage when dealing with the stronger insects that inhabit the park, particularly those guarding valuable resources like Acorns. Additionally, Gnat Fuzz can be used to manufacture a Gas Mask, which provides you with Gas Guard protection.
