How to Kill the Assassin in High on Life 2

In High on Life 2, The Assassin is a challenging boss you face during the mission “Kill Senator Muppy Doo.” This boss is quick and deals a lot of damage, which can be tough for players, particularly on harder settings.

This guide will help you defeat the Assassin, detailing his attacks, how to avoid them, and which weapons work best. Once you’ve beaten him, you’ll be able to pursue Senator Muppy Doo and finish the mission.

How to Kill the Assassin in High on Life 2

The Assassin primarily attacks players with either a gun that fires three shots at a time from a medium distance, or a powerful dagger in close combat. He’s also very quick and can easily get close to his target.

The Assassin can deal a lot of damage quickly, but he’s not very durable. If you concentrate your attacks on him and keep the damage coming, you can defeat him fast.

Assassin’s Attacks in High on Life 2

The Assassin has access to the following attacks.

Attack Description Screenshot
Burst Shot The Assassin uses his gun to shoot a spread of three bullets from medium to long range, dealing damage. The bullets have a travel time, which means you can dash out of the way or outrun them by using your skateboard.
Melee Attack The Assassin lunges across the room and uses his dagger in melee range to deal massive damage. This attack is quite fast, but it can be dodged if you are racing across the arena on the skateboard. Dodging via a dash can be done too, but the Assassin can follow up this attack with a dash to close the distance with you.
Dash The Assassin dashes horizontally, leaving after-images behind him. This can be used both to close the distance with the player and to dodge attacks.
Spike The Assassin throws an electrically charged spike at the player, shocking the player in place and dealing damage. This attack can be deflected by pressing the melee attack button (like Kreg’s chain throw).
High Voltage The Assassin uses his spike to overload the arena’s electrical system, carpeting the entire arena in electrical charges. This attack can be dodged by using your skateboard to skate on the walls. Since the electric charges do not reach the walls, you’ll be safe.

Best Strategy to Defeat the Assassin in High on Life 2

The blue energy shields in the arena can block gunfire, giving you cover. But be aware – they sink into the ground every so often, leaving you vulnerable. When they disappear, your best bet is to quickly skate along the arena walls to stay safe.

The Assassin’s attacks aren’t instant – they take a moment to reach you, so you can dodge them if you react quickly. When the energy pillars reappear, hide behind them again and keep shooting at the Assassin until he’s defeated.

Best Weapons to Fight the Assassin in High on Life 2

If you’ve defeated Larry Pinkstock, you’ll now have Travis, a powerful weapon that fires water projectiles at medium range. It’s especially good against the Assassin because it’s quick and does a lot of damage with each hit.

Sweezy is a solid pick because her Time Bubble can slow enemies, letting you inflict significant damage. Gus, however, is only effective if you’re comfortable fighting the Assassin up close and surviving. The Assassin is strongest at close range due to his melee attacks, which limits how helpful Gus can be.

Once you beat the Assassin, a scene will show him agreeing to help you as a new weapon called Sheath. Then, you can resume your pursuit of Senator Muppy Doo, chasing him around the planet until you face him in a final showdown.
