You begin your journey in Arknights Endfield as a character who’s lost their memories, stranded on a hostile planet constantly threatened by dangerous creatures. After completing the initial tutorial, you start the first chapter, working with Endfield Industries to rebuild technology and complete missions. You’ll quickly discover that improving your character’s abilities is key to making progress.
As your operator gains levels and promotions, their health points (HP) increase, letting them survive longer in battles against enemies and bosses. You’ll also see a boost to their attack power, meaning each hit will deal more damage. Plus, core stats like Strength, Agility, Intellect, and Will all improve, which are essential for developing a powerful operator. Here’s a guide on how to level up and promote your operator in Arknights Endfield.
How to Level Up Your Characters in Arknights Endfield
Leveling up your character in Arknights Endfield is similar to other action RPGs. To do so, go to the Operators section – you can find it by clicking the mannequin icon in the top-right corner – then open the Level Up screen and use Combat Records as resources.
If you cannot see the Operators icon, you will need to clear the Rally and Unite quest in Chapter 1.
Combat Records are used to gain experience in the game. You can find them by exploring the planet Talos-Il, completing Protocol Space: Operator EXP rifts, or trading for them at the AIC Quota Exchange. Currently, there are three different types of Combat Records, each offering a varying amount of experience.
| All Combat Record Types | EXP Gained |
|---|---|
| Elementary Combat Record | 200 |
| Intermediate Combat Record | 1,000 |
| Advanced Combat Record | 10,000 |
In Arknights Endfield, characters can reach a maximum level of 90, but it takes time. You’ll start by leveling up to 20, then ‘promote’ your characters to increase their level cap to 40, 60, 80, and finally 90. After that, you can continue leveling them normally using Combat Records.
How to Promote Your Characters in Arknights Endfield
Okay, so as a huge fan, I’ve figured out how promotions work! Once you hit level 20 with a character, you’ll see the option to do what they call ‘Elite Promotions’ right on the level-up screen. But here’s the catch: after your first one, you can’t just keep going. You have to max out your character’s level again and also complete some specific upgrades – they call them ‘Outfitting’ upgrades – before the next promotion becomes available. They’ll explain more about those upgrades later, but that’s the basic idea!
In Arknights Endfield, each Operator needs to go through four promotions. Here’s a breakdown of what each promotion requires in terms of materials and details.
| All Operator Promotions | Cost | Level Cap Unlocked |
|---|---|---|
| Promotion I | 8 Protodisk, 3 Pink Bolete, and 1.6k T-Creds | Lv.40 |
| Promotion II | 25 Protodisk, 5 Red Bolete, and 6.5k T-Creds | Lv.60 |
| Promotion III | 24 Protoset, 5 Ruby Bolete, and 18k T-Creds | Lv.80 |
| Promotion IV | 36 Protoset, 20 Metadiastima Photoemission Tube, 8 Bloodcap, and 100k T-Creds | Lv.90 |
Outfitting upgrades are improvements to your gear that you’ll need to complete as your character levels up. These upgrades are essential for progression – you can’t unlock new character levels without first upgrading your outfitting. They let you equip better, more powerful gear, which helps you withstand more damage from enemies.
