The characters at your Howling Hill Camp are closely connected to the Greymane Faction Quests. Improving your camp and leveling up your comrades go hand-in-hand with recruiting more to your team. It might seem a little complicated at first, but we’ll break it down for you below.

How to Level Up Comrades & Get More Skills in Crimson Desert
- Each Comrade has a unique set of Skills, but some are grayed out and have not yet been unlocked.
- You can unlock additional Comrade Skills by upgrading the Camp at Howling Hill.
- Upgrading the Camp at Howling Hill is tied to the Greymane Faction Quests, specifically the “Grounds of the Sunrise” tab.
- You will need to listen to Marinus, who shares rumors of potential Greymanes, and then check your map to follow those rumors, where you will find additional Comrades.
- Once you have enough Comrades, you can head to Howling Hill on the map and click “Inspect” (Triangle/Y) and begin a Dispatch Mission to upgrade the Camp.
- Each time you upgrade the Camp, you will unlock more rumors that provide you with more Comrades, which in turn, provide you with more Camp Upgrades.
Camp Upgrades are tied to the Greymane Faction Quests and can be completed from Chapter 4.
Things to Know About Comrades in Crimson Desert
- Comrades are obtained from completing Greymane Faction Quests and Rumors provided by Marinus.
- Each Comrade has a unique list of skills, which are acquired through Camp Upgrades.
- Comrades do not have individual XP bars.
- Comrades cannot level up through Dispatch Missions.
- Comrades cannot level up by donating supplies to Carl.
