In the expansive world of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, known as Mira, you’ll encounter dangerous foes. To keep up with these threats, it’s crucial to maintain a consistent pace with leveling and experience point (XP) farming. Acquiring XP in Xenoblade Chronicles X is quite straightforward, but did you know there are alternative ways to farm XP without engaging in battles? Leverage everything that Mira and New Los Angeles offer to boost your character’s level and Class Rank effectively.
Every Way to Gain EXP
Monsters, Quests, and More
Previously stated, EXP can be gained by overcoming monsters in combat, however, you’ll also receive EXP for accomplishing Missions such as Arms Manufacturer (AMs) and Division Missions. Additionally, exploring Mira, uncovering new Landmarks, or opening Treasure Boxes will grant you some EXP.
Prior to reaching stages known as both ‘endgame’ and ‘postgame’, where farming Experience Points (EXP) becomes simpler and faster compared to the start, you’ll need to resort to conventional methods for leveling up. In essence, this involves overcoming monsters, completing every quest you undertake, and so on.
To summarize, you can get EXP by doing the following:
- Defeating monsters
- Completing Missions (including AMs and Divisions)
- Discovering Landmarks
- Opening Treasure Boxes
EXP Farming Tips and Tricks for Early-Gamers
Quick Ways to Level Up

As a fellow enthusiast embarking on a fresh adventure in the mystical world of Mira, I’d suggest engaging with any creatures you encounter during exploration. Steer clear of monsters significantly weaker than your current level, but feel free to engage those that are around your level or slightly higher. If you’re feeling particularly daring, don’t hesitate to tackle the formidable Tyrants. Happy gaming!
Additionally, you have the option to equip armor or weapons that come with bonus Experience points. To check the properties of your gear, you can visit the Inventory section of your menu, or when you’re buying or selling items.
With Irina at hand, you can employ her special abilities, “Brainjack” and “Servant Sacrifice,” to possibly eliminate enemies instantly. In essence, first, apply the Control debuff on your target using Brainjack, followed by executing Servant Sacrifice to instant-kill it. However, please note that these skills are ineffective against bosses or Tyrants as they’re resistant to the Control effect.
As an avid player, I can’t stress enough the importance of taking on as many missions as possible, whether they’re from the quest board, Affinity Missions, or Division Missions. You’ll be rewarded with cash and EXP for completing these tasks, but the real joy lies in the opportunity they provide to venture out and explore the beautiful world of Mira. This journey can unlock hidden Landmarks and uncover Treasure Boxes, making your gaming experience even more exciting!
To progress rapidly in the early stages of gameplay, focus on completing Missions and thoroughly exploring the area, fighting enemies and discovering Landmarks along the way. Enhance your character’s development by using gear with Experience Bonus properties.
