Gardening is a key hobby you can start early in Heartopia. It’s the second hobby players unlock, after fishing, and it quickly becomes important for earning gold and simply enjoying the game. If you like gardening, there’s nothing quite like seeing your plants grow!

How to Grow Crops in Heartopia
You can learn gardening basics from Blanc. To start growing crops, you’ll need to buy seeds from him. You’ll also need plant boxes to place on your property. Initially, you can purchase eight plant boxes, but you can buy more as you advance in the game.
After you set up your boxes, you can start planting the seeds you’ve gathered. You’ll begin with tomato seeds, but as you continue gardening, you’ll unlock other crops like potatoes and wheat.
Blanc provides a watering can to help you after you plant your seeds. Growing crops takes time – some, like tomatoes, are ready in around 15 minutes, but others, such as lettuce, need eight hours. Gardening is a test of patience!
How to Level Up Gardening Fast in Heartopia
Gardening is like any other hobby – the more you practice, the better you get. To improve your gardening skills, you earn Proficiency Points by planting and harvesting crops.
After you harvest crops, the game tells you how many points you’ve gained. To get more Proficiency Points, remember to pull weeds as your crops are growing. Weeds pop up randomly, but removing them will help your crops thrive.
Besides seeds for plants and flowers, Blanc’s shop offers a couple of helpful items. You’ll quickly gain access to Fertilizer and Growth Booster. Fertilizer makes your crops better quality, while Growth Booster speeds up how long it takes for them to grow by 15 minutes.
When you reach Gardening level 3 in Heartopia, you’ll be able to grow flowers! While they’re mainly for making your space look nice, they take a while to bloom. The first flowers available, Red and White Daisies, each take around 18 hours to fully grow.
