How To Make Leather & Unlock Tannery In RuneScape: Dragonwilds

In the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, leather is one of the important resources players can manufacture. This ingredient is crucial for creating good early-game equipment. It’s not overly challenging to produce, but it does take some time as you initially need to unlock the necessary building, construct it, and then generate the material.

As an enthusiast, I can’t stress enough the importance of investing in armor, especially when it comes to battling numerous adversaries that lie ahead. Having a robust armor set and a reliable weapon will surely make your journey smoother in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Therefore, if you aim to traverse this world with greater ease, I strongly suggest focusing on honing your leather crafting skills first.

How To Make A Tannery In RuneScape: Dragonwilds

In the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a Tannery is a place you’ll need to build by assembling various resources to produce leather. You’ll receive the instructions for constructing the Tannery once you acquire your initial Animal Bone. This can be obtained by killing animals such as deer or cows, which will then grant you access to the Tannery recipe. Gather the required materials to erect this structure and begin producing leather.

  • Ash Logs x12: Use a spell or an axe to destroy trees. You can also pick some from the ground or uproot saplings.
  • Animal Bone x4: Kill large animals like cows and deer, or use the Bark To Bones spell that needs 10 Nature Runes and 10 Earth Runes to transform one Ash Tree into 7 bones. It can be unlocked upon reaching Artisan level 11.
  • Coarse Thread x2: Collect Flax or Animal Coarse Hide and use a Spinning Wheel to make Coarse Thread.

Just like my beloved game, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, where the Spinning Wheel needs shelter to operate, I find myself in a similar situation with the Tannery. It seems that for it to work effectively, it must be positioned beneath a protective roof, much like how I’d shield a delicate flower from harsh weather conditions.

How To Make Leather In RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Once you’ve built the Tannery in “RuneScape: Dragonwilds”, gather some Animal Hides or Animal Hide Remnants to use in your new structure and create leather. Just remember that one Animal Hide will yield one piece of leather, whereas it takes three Animal Hide Scraps to produce a single piece of leather.

Leather can be used to craft a variety of armor and weapons at the crafting station, like:
