How To Make Shifts Longer In The Precinct

As a dedicated officer patrolling the bustling streets of Averno City’s Precinct, I find that my duties evolve as I ascend through the ranks within the game. The city’s criminal underworld is ever-expanding, and in response, our department has implemented various types of shifts to bolster civilian protection. However, when a brand new day dawns, I am only allocated four unpredictable shifts to perform my duties, adding an element of uncertainty to each passing sunrise.

Instead of being let down when you don’t receive your preferred shifts, the game includes a Custom Shift feature. This enables players to design their ideal shift based on personal preferences, even fine-tuning minor details to suit their taste.

The players gain the ability to personalize their shifts once they reach Police Office Level 1. Therefore, if you’re still new, focus on gaining experience points (XP) as rapidly as possible to advance in rank and eventually become a Police Officer.

As soon as you reach the necessary level, the ability for Custom Shifts will become accessible. During the daily selection of your shift, there will be a tiny option that pops up in the lower right corner of the screen, allowing you to personalize your work schedule.

As a gamer, I appreciate the flexibility this option offers. I can pick the shift type, its version, my preferred gaming region, start time, and length – up to an entire day or 24 hours. This gives me ample time for patrolling, dealing with numerous criminals, and racking up loads of XP!

Just remember that when you choose a Custom Shift, the progress toward unlocking new regions won’t carry over anymore. Typically, predefined shifts come with milestones; reaching these milestones opens up a new region for the same shift the following day. However, this isn’t the case with Custom Shifts.

To unlock all regions, players should finish random tasks assigned for specific shifts initially. Once these shifts no longer have milestones to achieve, they can switch to custom shifts instead. This approach is useful because the initial level of shifts only cover a limited area, making it hard to catch many criminals within a short period.

To put it simply, achieving those shift milestones won’t earn you additional XP. If your goal is to quickly increase your level, then a 24-hour custom shift would be more beneficial for you. During a longer shift, you can personally handle all the criminals and take them to the precinct without worrying about time constraints. In essence, an extended shift could potentially double or even triple the XP you’d earn from a regular shift.
