Some of the Pokémon returning in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC’s Mega Dimension are tricky to find, and you’ll need to craft an Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut to battle Kyogre.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, making donuts becomes a core skill in the Mega Dimension. The ingredients you choose affect the results, giving you helpful boosts, and like Groudon, you’ll need to meet specific conditions to find Kyogre.

How to Make The Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Making an Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut requires eight Hyper Berries, but you don’t get them randomly. The recipe calls for specific Hyper Berries, not just any.
Save any Hyper Berries you find, as they’re used to make special Donuts in the Mega Dimension DLC. Certain Pokémon, including Kyogre, require specific Donuts to be summoned. Just keep in mind that you can only battle and catch Kyogre after you finish the main story.
The ingredients to make the Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut in the Mega Dimension DLC are shown below.
- 2x Hyper Babiri Berry
- 1x Hyper Colbur Berry
- 1x Hyper Haban Berry
- 3x Hyper Payapa Berry
- 1x Hyper Coba Berry
Okay, so if you’re running low on Hyper Berries, here’s what I do: I jump into any Hyperspace Dimension and just start smashing those floating Pokéballs. Seriously, focus on the golden ones – they only show up after you’ve finished everything else in that area, but they drop a ton of Hyper Berries!
Hyper Berries are given out randomly, so it might take some time to get the ones you’re looking for.
How to Use The Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, using the Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut in a certain location will open a portal leading straight to Primal Kyogre.
After you make the donut, quickly travel to Wild Zone 5 and find the portal with the rainbow Mega Evolution symbol and five yellow stars. It’s located just beyond the sludge piles – you’ll need to use a Water-type move to clear them, following the same path you’d take to find the Alpha Whirlipede.
As you get closer to the portal, Korrina will ask you to give Hoopa an Omega Old-Fashioned Donut. After you do, go through the portal and start the battle with Primal Kyogre to finish this optional quest.
