How to Open Ironwall Resolve in Borderlands 4

Ironwall Resolve is a special Order Bunker in Dominion City’s Terminus District. Unlike other bunkers, it requires a bit of extra effort to unlock. This guide will walk you through exactly how to open the Ironwall Resolve Bunker in Borderlands 4, navigate its challenging layout, and details the Legendary loot you can earn from the boss inside. Let’s get you ready to fight and loot!

How to Open Ironwall Resolve in Borderlands 4

This video shows you how to find the entrance to Ironwall Resolve and the Locust canister needed to unlock it.

To unlock the Ironwall Resolve Bunker, players need to finish the “One Gassy Issue” side mission, which can be found in Dominion’s Fades District. This side mission only appears after you’ve completed the main mission “Means of Ascent.” Once that’s done, you’ll find Locust canisters throughout Dominion.

Now that you’ve completed the ‘One Gassy Issue’ quest and have the Locust cannisters, travel to the Frantic Scrawl Fast Travel Station in the Terminus District. Head southwest from there. Follow the path from the grapple point, and you’ll reach Praetor’s Lecture. To open the Ironwall Resolve Bunker, look to your left for a Locust dispenser hidden among the junk. Use your grapple hook to grab a cannister, then quickly run to the bunker door and throw it to open the way.

How to Get Through Ironwall Resolve in Borderlands 4

This video will help guide you through the entirety of Ironwall Resolve so you don’t get lost!

When you enter Ironwall Resolve, start by shooting the glowing red battery core on the left wall. This will disable the red force field blocking your way. Then, turn left into the big open room and grapple onto the first pillar on your left to get to a higher position. From there, look west for a railing, jump onto it, and follow the path around until you can jump into the north side of the room to destroy another battery.

Now that you’ve destroyed the first battery, go back to where you started at Ironwall Resolve and take the door on the right. Walk down the long hallway until you reach the end, then climb the ladder and destroy the next battery. Once that’s done, return to the beginning and go through the main chamber to reach the Vending Machines and start the fight with Directive-0.

How to Beat Directive-0 & Legendary Loot Drops in Borderlands 4

What Legendary Loot Does Directive-0 Drop?

Legendary Type Special Effect
Bonnie and Clyde Assault Rifle Pair of Thieves – On Kill, grants +100% Damage for the Gun’s other Mode and refills its magazine
Rowan’s Charge Assault Rifle Stalker – Grants a 20% Chance for shots to be a Critical Hit, and refunds 2 Ammo on a Critical Hit.
Whiskey Foxtrot Assault Rifle Overdrive – Switch to a secondary Magazine that can be fired on Full Auto OR Scrap Cannon – Fires a spread of shrapnel from the Underbarrel that deals Damage, and increases target’s Damage Taken for 4s

Let’s break down the rewards you can get from Directive-0. It seems to drop a lot of Assault Rifles! We suggest trying to get the Whiskey Foxtrot weapon, because it can come with two powerful Legendary perks. If you’re building a character focused on Critical Hits – like with Vex Incarnate – Rowan’s Charge is another excellent choice.

Directive-0 has two layers of defense: a shield and then armor. To defeat it effectively, use Shock weapons and either Corrosive or Cryo weapons. At the start of the fight, Directive-0 will create a barrier to protect itself from attacks coming from the front. While you can break this barrier by shooting it, Directive-0 will keep putting it back up periodically.

Directive-0 isn’t a complicated enemy – he mainly shoots, dashes around, and creates Rail Liner turrets by throwing orbs. Destroy those turrets quickly to avoid their powerful charged attack. His most dangerous attack is a barrage of impact grenades, so keep moving and be prepared to dash away when he throws them.
