How to Open Locked Door in Tenryu River in Nioh 3 (Dirty Key)

In Nioh 3, the Dirty Key is essential for opening a specific locked door, but the game doesn’t provide any hints about its location. Players have to discover the door themselves. Likewise, if you find the door in the Tenryu River area first, the game won’t tell you that you need the Dirty Key to open it.

This guide explains how to get the Dirty Key, where to find the locked door it opens, and what rewards you’ll find inside. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know.

How to Get the Dirty Key in Nioh 3

Dirty Key Location in Nioh 3

You can get the Dirty Key by defeating Yamainu, a wolf yokai with golden claws. He wanders the main street in the Tenryu River area of the Warring States map. Check the location marked on the map to find him roaming around.

How to Beat Yamainu in Nioh 3

Yamainu is a very tough and aggressive enemy – probably one of the strongest you’ve faced up to this point. We suggest using the Ninja Style and Evade skill to avoid his difficult attacks. Before fighting Yamainu, take out the yokai on the nearby roof to prevent getting overwhelmed.

How to Use Dirty Key in Nioh 3

You can use the Dirty Key to unlock the house in the southeastern corner of the Tenryu River. On the map, find the Chijiko icon in the village – the house is located directly below it. Refer to the screenshot for the precise location.

Once you’ve unlocked the door with the Dirty Key, go inside the house and look for a large red chest. Inside, you’ll find the “Armor Piercer” skill text along with some other useful items. This new skill will become available the next time you pray at a shrine.

There’s a Chijiko flying over the house with the locked door. Shoot it down with your bow, and you’ll get 1 Samurai’s Lock.
