How to Play as Fighter in Crystal of Atlan (Class Overview)


Starting the game “Crystal of Atlan“, you’ll be presented with five starting classes, including Fighter. You’ll stick with this class until level 15, at which point your character requires an upgrade to the Class Branch. As you advance through the story and reach level 10, you’ll unlock key skills (both Active and Finisher) as follows:

Later on, there should be five open spaces in the settings for skills, which you can fill with the Active Skills that you prefer (excluding the Finisher slot). With all enemies congregated at one location, the combatant can then inflict Area-of-Effect damage using “Crushing Fist” and “Swallow Step.” Lastly, the Finisher move, “Whirlwind of Pain,” can be utilized to continuously attack nearby adversaries and inflict massive Physical damage.
During a Finisher move, you’re able to adjust its path by moving freely, allowing for precise directional control over your attack.

Once you attain Level 15, Ellie in Lumiville will offer you a Branch Quest for your Class. Finish this quest and you’ll be presented with the choice between the Fighter’s advanced classes: Cloudstrider or Starbreaker. You are allowed to switch between these two classes at will until reaching Level 45, when you’ll receive the Awakening Quest in Crystal of Atlan, which will permanently set your advanced class.

In this advanced role, you assume the part of a melee combatant who frequently dispatches Area of Effect (AoE) damage. Your arsenal is equipped with various skills that offer mobility, allowing you to dance around enemies rather than approaching them directly.
In combat, it’s crucial to control Cloudstrider’s energy (Qi) to transition into the Dharma Nature, each form offering a distinct battle style. The initial transformation is the Tiger Form, emphasizing boosting your damage by using fire-infused abilities. Alternatively, the Crane Form enhances your agility with water-based skills.
Stepping into the Realm of Dharma drains your energy or life force, but given time, this energy will be restored when you leave the physical form behind.

- Summon Energy is the most important skill, allowing you to enter the Dharma Nature: Tiger or Crane. Once Dharma Nature is active, your damage will be increased by a set percentage.
- If you’re into mobility, Leopard Pounce and Dragon Claw are good starter skills. But in the late games, it’s best to rely on sprint to get closer to enemies, so the skill slots can be given to other Active Skills that provide more damage.
- When facing multiple enemies in Crystal of Atlan, you can clump them together with Heavenly Kick and Crushing Fist for AoE damage. But as the level increases, you will unlock more AoE ranged attacks such as Blooming Palm and Qi Helix.
- Body – Formless and Body – Shapeless are both mobility skills, allowing you to be out of reach of the enemies’ range, while also dealing damage afterward. The latter is a great choice for the late game, where it can be used as an emergency sprint when your real sprint is on cooldown.
- As the active skills that are unlocked at a higher level, Shadow Step (Tiger Form) deals an extremely high Shield Break effect, while Mind – Desolation is akin to an upgraded version of Qi Helix, creating a massive explosion and damage.
- The last notable skill is Mind – Soul Divided, which further increases your damage based on the number of targets hit by the skill (Tiger Form).
How to Play as Starbreaker in Crystal of Atlan
Unlike Cloudstrider, who opts for agility to dodge and maneuver around foes, Starbreaker chooses to engage in close quarters combat to inflict explosive damage. Adventurers will utilize her Core Engine mechanic to boost the majority of Starbreaker’s skills (at the expense of Energy Gauge).
Using any ability from the Starbreaker, you’ll boost your Core energy by the amount of damage dealt per hit. Two successful hits fill up two energy meters, triggering a Core Lamp activation. Following this, using another ability will deplete two energy meters to acquire Core Amplification. This amplification could enhance damage output, add extra strikes, or impose Armor Break effects, depending on the specific skill employed.

- Start the battle with Burn, O Flames! to trigger Flamebound for 10 seconds. While Flamebound is active, Starbreaker will deal extra damage and Scorch enemies that were hit for five seconds.
- Some of the skills that allow you to get near an enemy in an instant are Star Fall, Skyscorcher, Scarlet Comet, and Burning Meteor. The last two skills deal higher damage, as Scarlet Comet can be charged, while Burning Meteor simply has a huge damage scale.
- Starbreaker is also known for its survivability, as many of their attacks can provide a shield: Morning Star (with its Passive Skill Earthshaking Morning Star unlocked), Flaming Hook, Scarlet Comet, and Fistcannon.
- Make sure to get close to the enemy before using these skills, as they are very short-ranged, and you might waste them if you’re too far from the opponent: Melting Blitz, Blazing Impact, and Fiery Flurry.
- For the Finisher moves, Hyperdrive – Scorchflare is best used as the primary attack as you will immediately deal massive burst of damage, unlike Hyperdrive – Skyfall, which requires you to ascend to the sky first before striking the ground.
