Alrighty, let me tell ya ’bout my take on Spider-Man, seeing as I’ve been swingin’ through Marvel’s concrete jungle myself for quite a spell now. Now, if you ain’t got no experience with this wall-crawlin’ hero yet, lemme give ya the lowdown.

In every action-packed hero game, there’s always one character who stands out due to their extraordinary movement abilities, a challenging skill set to master, and an eye-catching performance style. In the case of Marvel Rivals, this exceptional figure is none other than Spider-Man.

He is one of the most difficult yet extremely fun characters, and considering he is Marvel’s most iconic superhero, it makes sense.

However, due to his special equipment, limited health, and exceptional agility, mastering Spider-Man as a hero can be quite challenging, particularly for those who are just starting out.

For an effortless understanding of Spider-Man, here’s a comprehensive walkthrough covering his powers, tactics for offense and defense, as well as hidden techniques to master. Enjoy the journey!

Spider-Man Abilities Overview

From a devoted fan’s perspective, Spider-Man embodies agility like no other hero. With his trusty webs, he dances in and out of combat, a true aerial acrobat. You might say he’s a master of the mid-air duel—flying in for a strike, securing a victory, and gracefully soaring away. However, before we delve into his dazzling moves, let’s first grasp how his equipment operates.

Here is a breakdown of his kit and its various abilities:

Abilities Description
Spider Power Primary Attack. Damage your enemies with punches and kicks.
Web Cluster Alternate Attack. Shoot out webs that damage and slow enemies. Enemies hit with the Web Cluster will have a Spider-Tracer on them.
Web Swing It allows you to swing, zip, and move fast using your webs.
Get Over Here Shoot a web to pull enemies towards you. If an enemy is marked with the Spider Tracer, Spidey will pull himself towards them.
Amazing Combo Launch the enemies into the sky with a strong uppercut.
Thwip and Flip A standard double jump.
Spider Sense (Passive) Alerts Spider-Man about nearby enemies.
Wall Crawl (Passive) It allows you to crawl and run on walls and roofs.

Any enemy with a Spider Tracer will get more damage from Spider-Man’s attacks.

Spider-Man Offensive Strategies

The strategy for defeating Spider-Man involves linking his powers together in succession to inflict substantial damage simultaneously. This is where the dive duelist’s role becomes crucial – approach, unleash a barrage of your abilities, and then retreat.

However, it’s crucial to strategize and choose your confrontations wisely. Trying to jump headlong into every conflict may not end well for you. Instead, carefully consider your objective and aim to separate your target from their allies before engaging.

Instead of battling head-on with your tanks, it would be more effective to employ your superior mobility to sneak around and target their support unit. This support member is crucial to their team’s survival, so taking them out should be your primary goal. Engage the frontlines only when you have your Ultimate at hand. Your Ultimate has a powerful effect that can quickly eliminate enemies.

In conclusion, strive to eliminate opponents for your team’s advantage. Focus on those with diminishing health and deliver the final blow. Your offensive potential is substantial, so if you time your attacks correctly, even a healer might be unable to revive their teammate.

How to do Combos?

To master these sequences of moves, or combos, it’s essential to link your skills together in a way that inflicts maximum damage in the quickest time possible. Here are some strategies for creating your own effective combos:

  • Whenever you go for an enemy, always hit them with your Web Cluster. This will put a tracer on them. Any enemy that has this tracer on them will take more damage from your punches.
  • You can also use “E” on the enemy with the Web Tracer, and Spidey will pull himself towards that enemy and land a kick.
  • From there on, you can pretty much do anything: hit some punches, do the F ability, or shoot some more Web Clusters into them.

My preferred tactic is using the F key for launching an opponent high in the air, followed by firing Web Clusters to complete the job. It’s an effortless combination that often results in a successful kill for me.

Always save a Web Swing Charge when you head into a duel, just so you can escape if things turn sour.

Spider-Man Defensive Strategies

Although Spider-Man moves swiftly, he’s relatively vulnerable with a total health of just 250 points. This is significantly lower than the average health of most other characters, making him susceptible to being defeated by a single hit.

The agility of Spider-Man is what often saves him in tricky situations. This makes playing as Spider-Man challenging for opponents since he moves so swiftly and unpredictably, especially when swinging from one place to another at high speeds. It’s quite tough to hit a moving target like that unless you possess exceptional aiming skills.

In simpler terms, what really protects Spider-Man is his ability to move quickly – nothing more complex than that.

Continue advancing, avoiding collisions as much as possible. Mastering your Web-Slide and Wall-Jump abilities will make you a more elusive target, reducing the chances of you getting eliminated.

Spider-Man Team-Up Abilities

Spider-Man possesses just two team-up moves, but one of them he’s unable to utilize. These are referred to as the Suit Explosion and the Additional Web Solution.

Abilities Heroes Required Description
Suit Explosion Venom Shoot out the Venom Symbiote in the form of spikes, dealing damage to enemies nearby.
Extra Web Fluid Squirrel Girl Spider-Man gives Squirrel Girl a web bomb that slows enemies.

The Suit Explosion is incredibly beneficial for Spider-Man since it provides him with an area of effect (AOE) attack, something he has been needing. This move can be used effectively to eliminate already weakened opponents, or even more strategically, incorporated into his combo sequences.

Spider-Man Counters

Avoid engaging tanks at all costs as Spider-Man, since they’re among your most formidable enemies, and your current health is too low to withstand their attacks, making it impossible for you to complete combos against them.

In simpler terms, when a tank is aiming at you, it’s best to flee because you can’t fight them alone effectively. However, they aren’t quick enough to cause too much hassle if you avoid them. So, just keep clear of their path and they’ll likely leave you be.

Besides tanks, characters who possess auto-aim capabilities are not ideal matches for Spider-Man. This category includes figures such as Namor, Star Lord, and Scarlet Witch. Their skills make it difficult to outmaneuver them, since they can automatically target you regardless of your mobility.

Scarlet Witch’s main attack can quickly deplete your energy, Namor’s turrets continually erode your health, and Star Lord’s “E” skill can swiftly diminish your health meter.

As a gamer, I find it more strategic to whittle down foes like these using my Web Clusters from a distance first. Once they’re nearly depleted, I move in for the kill. However, I generally steer clear of one-on-one battles with them whenever possible.

Characters such as Black Widow and Hawkeye who excel as snipers, can pose difficulties as well, particularly if they are accurate with their shots. A precise headshot could swiftly return you to the starting point. To counter this, it’s best to attempt getting closer to them. It’s challenging for a sniper to hit their mark when you’re in close proximity and actively engaging in hand-to-hand combat.

Spider-Man Best Settings

Unlike most other heroes whose settings you can typically leave as they are, playing Spider-Man requires a bit more tinkering due to his technically and mechanically intricate nature. You’ll likely need to adjust some settings to get the best experience.

If you intend to play as Spider-Man, here are four crucial adjustments you might consider:

  • Automatic Swing is the most important of these all, as it allows you to control where you shoot your web to swing from, instead of randomly swinging. This gives you a lot more control over where you want to go. It is set to off by default, so turn it on.
  • Hold to Swing is also another key setting. Basically, you will have to hold Shift while swinging and release it when you want to get out of it. A lot of players do like to have this On, as it gives a bit more control.
  • Hold to Crawl and Hold to Run on Walls makes it so you will only stick to walls if you hold the Space button. This setting will stop you from randomly clinging on to walls when you don’t want to.
