In Crashlands 2, there’s a wealth of discovery waiting for you! Fortunately, you won’t need to journey through the wilderness on your own. Accompanying you will be helpful companions who can assist with various tasks as you traverse this new world. Acquiring these allies is easier than you might imagine.
Caring for a pet is equally enjoyable and rewarding, and they can provide support during tough times if required. In this guide for Crashlands 2 , we’ll walk you through the process of discovering your first pet and nurturing it, as well as offering advice on how to acquire more companions.
How to Get a Pet in Crashlands 2
In your early stages, consider adopting your first pet. Once you interact with the residents of Haarlipol, you’ll receive a quest titled “Looks Like BS“. This quest will lead you on an adventure to Sluggabun Grotto, located west of town. It might be beneficial for you to carry some Popcork Docks along. These items will make it simpler for you to access the Grotto and also help you locate Juice Jems that are concealed on small landmasses surrounded by water.
Upon reaching Sluggabun Grotto, venture around until you stumble upon a Sluggabun egg located more towards the western region. This discovery will trigger a quest known as “A Good Egg“.
A Good Egg Quest
This brief journey leads you to the Thunder Fields, situated right below the Crash Pod. The path is straightforward, involving interactions with Non-Player Characters (NPCs), battles against foes, more NPC chats, and a repeating sequence like that.
In this location, you’ll encounter Baani and Clood, two farmers dealing with a nuisance of Ampybaras on their land. Your task is to eradicate these creatures, don’t forget to inspect the barns as well. Once completed, they will share valuable insights on nurturing the Sluggabun egg you’ve discovered.
In the future, you can find more pets by completing quests or by finding them in the world.
How to Raise Pets

To care for a pet in the Crashlands sequel, ensure that you incubate the eggs in suitable habitats. For instance, when dealing with a Sluggabun egg, construct a nest, position it within a room that meets specific conditions such as temperature and humidity levels to facilitate proper development.
- The room must be cramped.
- The room must be away from workstations.
- The egg must be near a Poplamp.
To accommodate this egg, construct a compact yet spacious 1×3-unit structure. This miniature abode should comfortably house a Poplamp and a Woven Nest. Ensure that the construction adheres to all essential criteria for it to be recognized as a room – namely, it must feature enclosing walls and a door.
After setting the egg in a suitable environment, it begins its incubation process. Over time, it hatches, revealing your brand-new pet.
