But none have prepared me for the enigmatic Enir-Ilim, the final area in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. To reach this elusive location, one must be brave enough to delve into the depths of the Realm of Shadow and defeat several formidable Legend bosses.
As a gamer, I can tell you that Enir-Ilim marks the end of my journey in the Elden Ring DLC. To reach this last stronghold, I need to delve deep into the Realm of Shadow and triumph over some Legendary foes. This place is filled with hidden treasures, waiting for me in secret chambers and behind venerated altars. It’s a Legacy Dungeon, and I can hardly wait to discover all the unique items, weapons, and armor sets it holds!
In this guide, you’ll find a detailed and sequential explanation on how to access and make your way to Enir Ilim within “Shadow of the Erdtree”.
Players cannot skip or bypass Enir-Ilim in the DLC; they must enter this region and conquer the boss dwelling there in order to finish the main story.
How To Reach Shadow Keep
The first step will be to reach Castle Ensis, which should be northeast of the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace. Summon your Torrent and head past the Ellac Greatbirdge, finding the Castle Front Site of Grace and the Castle Ensis behind it. After exploring inside the Castle, you will reach the Castle-Lord’s Chamber, where you will have to fight Rellana, Twin Moon Knight.
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “Instead of going to Castle Ensis, you can save some time by heading in the southeastern direction from Castle Front. This will lead you to the Fort of Reprimand, which you can access through the Ravine.”
Following your victory against him, make your way to the threshold and step into “Scadu Altus” to the north. You’ll notice a colossal structure in the distance – this is the Shadow Keep, your next objective. Mount your steed, Torrent, on the primary path, bypassing numerous Messmer Soldiers and Furnace Golems that patrol the area, to reach the elevator granting access to the main entrance.
Venture into the depths of the Shadow Keep, advancing step by step towards its peak. At the summit, confront a formidable Red Knight protecting the entrance to a hidden chamber. Additionally, vanquish the enigmatic boss named Messmer to obtain a valuable reward.
How To Get To Enir-Ilim
Following your victory against Messmer, make your way back to the Storehouse First Floor Site of Grace. Then, turn left and descend the elevator. You’ll encounter several rooms brimming with Jar Innards; continue past these until you reach the West Rampart. Cross the bridge to access the Viaduct Minor Tower, and just beyond it lies the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. Delve deep into the underground section of these ruins, thoroughly exploring every corner until you stumble upon the Church of the Bud.
Where To Go After Church Of The Bud
In a quaint corner lies the Bud Sanctuary, home to the formidable boss, Romina the Saint of Bud. Overcoming her challenges grants access to the Sealing Tree. This tree requires the Messmer’s Kindling for burning upon completion. The ensuing event will transport you to Enir-Ilim.
