How To Reach Room 46 in Blue Prince

Title character, “Blue Prince,” pursues a straightforward goal: navigating through a manor that boasts just 45 rooms to find elusive Room 46. However, the unpredictable layout of Mt Holly makes this seemingly easy task much harder than expected. Finding the necessary rooms to access it proves challenging, but don’t be discouraged! Reaching Room 46 is achievable, and there are multiple paths you can take. Interestingly, some intricate puzzles in the game aren’t even required for reaching this room. Here’s a guide on how to find Room 46 in “Blue Prince.

Significant spoilers below, proceed with caution.

How to Reach Room 46 in Blue Prince

To gain access to Room 46, I suggest first navigating your way to the Antechamber situated across the manor. While it might be tempting to construct rooms along the way, keep in mind that the paths created may not always lead directly to your destination. Instead, a more strategic approach would be advisable. Avoid rushing headlong towards the Antechamber as you could potentially find yourself in a predicament where you’re low on gems or keys, leaving no means of advancement.

Even when you follow all the steps correctly, there’s always a possibility that Luck (RNG) won’t side with you, and before you manage to unlock the Antechamber, you might exhaust all doors, with reaching Room 46 still remaining an unfulfilled goal.

Antechamber Levers

Even if you successfully link a room to the Antechamber, you won’t be able to enter unless you discover one of the levers that unlock the doors. There are three rooms with these levers: the Grand Hall, the Secret Garden, and the Greenhouse. Unfortunately, the Greenhouse lever is damaged, so your chances of finding it lie in exploring other rooms. Therefore, your most promising strategy would be to search for the lever in either the Grand Hall or the Secret Garden. However, accessing the Secret Garden requires a key that appears at random in various rooms.

Remember, every handle opens a unique entrance to the Antechamber. The East door is connected to the Great Hall, the West door is linked to the Secret Garden, and the South door corresponds to the Greenhouse. Therefore, design your rooms thoughtfully depending on where you want access.

Inside the Antechamber

After successfully entering the Antechamber by opening one or more of its doors, a pillar will emerge bearing the Basement Key. The door with the moon symbol is located on the other side, but for now, it remains closed. There are two places where you can utilize the Basement Key: the bottom of the Foundation elevator (assuming you’ve discovered and inserted it in the manor) and the bottom of the well outside the manor. To access the bottom of the well, you need to completely empty the fountain in the Pump Room first.

Once you open the doors using the Basement Key, they stay unlocked for good. However, if you decide to end your exploration before utilizing the key twice, you’ll need to revisit the Antechamber to retrieve the Basement Key again in order to unlock the door you may have overlooked. Both doors lead to a vast subterranean region filled with intricate puzzles, one of which is the Reservoir that can be drained.

The Basement

It’s best if there are multiple ways to enter the basement, as many unlocked entrances as possible would be ideal for easy navigation. The aim is to locate the Inner Sanctum, where you will discover a lever that unveils Room 46 by opening the north door in the Antechamber.

The primary challenge preventing your access to the Inner Sanctum is a large puzzle room filled with gears. By maneuvering the platforms, you’ll be able to traverse various sections of this room. The gear mechanism can be elevated or lowered for your convenience. To unlock the Inner Sanctum, you will have to interact with terminals placed at different locations and then lift it high enough so that you can connect the lower platform, thereby gaining entry to the tunnel-like area called the Underpass.

As a movie-goer, I’d say: Upon finding the right moment, one should approach the base of the fountain and discover the hidden door. Venture down the winding tunnel that lies beyond, and with a nudge, set the minecart rolling to clear its path. The entrance to the mysterious Underpass will then reveal itself on your left, as suggested in the image above.

Upon reaching the Underpass, continue on your path and find the door straight ahead. This will take you to the Inner Sanctum, featuring a large handle and eight doors. Pull the handle and disregard the doors for now. At this juncture, simply select a passageway that leads back to the Antechamber.

Keep track of the remaining steps you have. If you manage to arrive at the Antechamber while still having at least one step remaining, you’ll be able to access Room 46 and complete the game successfully.

What Happens After You Reach Room 46?

Major spoilers are below; proceed with caution.

When trying to find Room 46, you might have noticed some unusual events in the story that suggest there’s more than just inheriting a mystery manor at play. Maybe you even stumbled upon the blue flames that activate something. If you’re curious about what else is hidden, I recommend further investigating the manor for secrets. A good starting point would be revisiting Room 46.

Upon your initial entry and viewing the conclusion, you’ll be ready to thoroughly investigate the room during your subsequent visit. It is crucial to activate the lever within the Inner Sanctum once more, because the doors of the Antechamber will automatically shut whenever a new day starts.
