How to recruit in College Football 25

As a seasoned college football coach with years of experience under my belt, I can’t stress enough the importance of effective recruiting in building a successful program. In College Football 25, every action counts, and the right moves at the right time can make all the difference between securing top talent or watching them slip through your fingers.

To start constructing a successful College Football dynasty in Game 25, you need to attract top-tier prospects to join your team. The new NCAA Football simulation includes a comprehensive recruitment process. This allows you to evaluate potential recruits, scout their skills, and extend them an invitation to join your program.

Although the process may seem simple, finding top-notch prospects for college football is far from easy. If you’re curious about how to secure the best athletes, here’s a look into effective recruiting strategies for college football.

College Football 25 recruitment explained

In College Football 25, the recruitment process unfolds over three stages: Discovery, Presentation, and Commitment. To begin, access the Recruitment feature via the Dynasty main page, followed by a visit to the Prospect List sub-tab.

In this section, you’ll be provided with an extensive list of potential recruits. Each name is accompanied by comprehensive profiles that include their Rank, Rating, expressed interest in joining your team, and their current college preference stage. Additionally, some candidates will have a ‘Need’ label next to their names, indicating they fit into a position your team currently requires.

With over 3,500 potential candidates on the list, take some time to examine the profiles that appeal to you most. To save your favorites, transfer them to your Recruitment Board by pressing the left bumper button. Now you’re ready to start evaluating these promising prospects.

To assess the skills of individual athletes, you’ll need to dedicate 10 hours from your allotted Recruitment Hours. The number of hours allocated varies based on your school’s prestige; high-ranking teams receive over 1000 hours, whereas lesser known schools may only get 350. To uncover a player’s Physical and Mental attributes, Development traits, it takes three separate scouting visits, totaling 30 hours.

After evaluating a potential scholarship recipient, you’ll be able to determine if extending an offer is right for you. If you’re committed to bringing on a new player, it’s important to align with their expectations. This is where dealbreakers come into play, as they represent non-negotiable requirements that must be met in order to have a shot at recruiting the player.

Dealbreakers are based on School Grades which you can check out by going to the ‘My School’ tab. Here, you’ll find grades rating different attributes for your school, these include:

  • Playing Time
  • Playing Style
  • Championship Contender
  • Program Tradition
  • Campus Lifestyle
  • Stadium Atmosphere
  • Pro Potential
  • Brand Exposure
  • Academic Prestige
  • Conference Prestige
  • Coach Prestige
  • Coach Stability
  • Athletic Facilities
  • Proximity to Home

As a gamer, I understand that many of the game’s attributes significantly impact my performance on the virtual field. By focusing on enhancing these aspects, I can boost my overall grade during the season. However, it’s important to note that there are some attributes, like Campus Lifestyle and Academic Prestige, which remain unchangeable. Despite this limitation, I will continue to strive for excellence in the areas I can control.

How to recruit in Dynasty mode

In College Football 25, when you’re ready to initiate the recruitment for a potential player, extend a Scholarship invitation to your top picks. This step will consume approximately five hours from your schedule. Afterward, progress the time and revisit the Recruiting Board to check their current status regarding college choice.

In the “About Us” part of their profile, you’ll find information on how your university ranks among their top choices. A higher position indicates a greater likelihood of attracting prospective students. Here are some strategies to improve your institution’s standing:

  • Search Social Media – 5 hours
  • DM The Player – 10 hours
  • Contact Friends and Family – 25 hours
  • Send The House – 50 hours

To observe the outcome of your chosen action on the player, let’s fast-forward time. The objective is to maintain a top position in the rankings each week until the list of potential schools is reduced to just five. If you succeed in making the cut, you will then have the opportunity to select one of these options to boost your influence further.

  • Soft Sell – 20 hours
  • Hard Sell – 40 hours
  • Sway – 30 hours

As a dedicated fan of the college recruiting process, I can’t help but get excited about the final step: scheduling a visit with a prospective student-athlete. Once they’ve narrowed down their top five schools, it’s our turn to make a lasting impression. This step comes with a time commitment of 40 hours from my team’s calendar.

If the college visit goes well, the student athlete could become a top contender for your team. Moving forward in time, you’ll likely receive a verbal commitment from them, enabling you to officially recruit them. Keep repeating this process and you’ll eventually master College Football 25’s recruiting system.

Best recruiting tips in College Football 25

Upgrade your coach

How to recruit in College Football 25EA SportsA set of abilities will be unlocked if your coach has the Recruiter archetype.

To improve your chances of securing top talent, consider allocating your Coach Points towards enhancing the Elite Recruiter skill set. This investment will yield advantages in recruitment actions, reduced scouting duration, and enhanced pipeline rewards. Additionally, you can augment your weekly Recruitment Hours by purchasing the Always Be Crootin’ ability.

Scout thoroughly

As a passionate scout, I believe that assessing players goes beyond uncovering their athletic skills and potential as a gem or a bust. Instead, the scouting process sheds light on their unique characteristics, providing valuable insights into their motivations and preferences. Once you’ve completed your evaluation, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of what each player values, enabling you to tailor your recruitment approach accordingly when scheduling visits.

Needs come first

Instead of focusing on the top-rated prospects who may have numerous suitors, consider broadening your search and investing time in potential candidates with strong abilities but lower ratings. This approach can help you avoid intense competition for limited resources and increase your chances of finding a valuable addition to your team.

Instead of only targeting 5-star recruits, I choose to put effort into scouting and building my team with 4-star prospects in crucial positions. By doing this, I’m actively working on strengthening my program’s weak spots and who knows, maybe I’ll discover a hidden gem among these talented players.

Keep an eye on Dealbreakers

If a prospect’s non-negotiable requirement (dealbreaker) doesn’t align with what you can offer, it might be more productive to focus your efforts on other prospects instead. For example, if a prospect requires living close to home and your institution is not within their preferred proximity, it may not be worth pursuing them further, no matter how prestigious your college is. Instead, consider investing time in potential candidates whose needs align with what you can provide.

To get the most out of your Dynasty mode experience, try building your custom team first using the Team Builder feature. Familiarize yourself with the optimal offensive and defensive settings as well.
