For quite some time now, since Riot entered the shooter realm with Valorant, they’ve been expressing their intentions to delve into the fighting game genre as well. Originally known as Project L, 2XKO is providing Riot Games the push they require to create a remarkable tag team fighter in this genre.
For those who have been avid fans of fighting games, the term 2XKO may resonate deeply. Riot Games has been diligently working to create an exceptional game, balancing intense competition with accessibility for casual players. With this goal in mind, they are now preparing for the next phase to ensure that 2XKO is ready for its eventual launch. Here’s a guide on how to sign up for the newly announced closed beta of 2XKO, scheduled for September 2025.
How to Register for the New 2XKO Closed Beta
The game 2XKO has been conducting private playtests and is now preparing to transition into a beta phase. To join the beta test, head over to the main website for 2XKO. Once there, look for the tab on the homepage labeled ‘Closed Beta’. Clicking this tab will prompt you to either log in or create a Riot Games account if you don’t already have one. After confirming your personal details and ensuring they match your account information, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the closed beta for 2XKO.
The trial run for this project begins on September 9th, and we haven’t set an end date yet. Our objective is to thoroughly test the backend maintenance systems Riot intends to employ in 2XKO, specifically focusing on how systems like rollback net code function efficiently under intense player pressure. Given its unique setup, this exclusive beta will only be accessible via PC.
Although it might disappoint some, if any future betas are announced, your progress will transfer to consoles. Later on, when the full release comes, that progress should carry over too. Previously, there was even a closed alpha test available for both consoles and PC. If you took part in this alpha test, you’re already registered for this beta.
As a gamer, I want you all to know that there’s no set schedule for when the game codes will be dispatched. Instead, they might pop up randomly anytime between now and the beta start date on September 9. Just remember to keep an eye on those spam or junk folders – sometimes, the emails with the codes can sneakily end up there instead of your main inbox. Stay alert, fellow gamers!
In this closed beta test, you’ll encounter all the characters we’ve announced earlier, plus a new addition – Vi, who has gained popularity from the popular Netflix show “Arcane”. The characters already on our roster are as follows:
- Echo
- Ari
- Yasuo
- Braum
- Atriox
- Illar
- Jinx
If you’d like to be part of the exclusive 2XKO closed beta testing group, simply click on the provided link to sign up.
