As an old-school RPG enthusiast who’s spent countless hours traversing the mystical lands of Dragon Quest, I can tell you that the Cursed items in the Dragon Quest 3 Remake have added a whole new layer of excitement to my adventures!
On your adventure through the revamped version of “Dragon Quest 3,” you’ll encounter various items to enhance your party’s abilities. Occasionally, though, you might stumble upon cursed equipment or accessories. Curious about what Curses are and how to rid them in DQ3? Read on for more information.
What Are Curses in Dragon Quest 3 Remake?
When you attach a cursed item, either an accessory or a weapon, to a team member, they cannot be removed or passed on to another teammate. These items often come with two characteristics: initially beneficial but eventually detrimental. For instance, consider a sword that inflicts massive damage, yet each strike also causes ten points of self-damage. This is just one possible scenario.
But of course, there’s an easy way to get rid of Curses, but it’ll cost you.
How to Remove a Curse in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
As a devoted fan, I’d share this: In the thrilling world of Dragon Quest 3 Remake, getting rid of a Curse is as easy as locating a town or city that houses a Church. Chances are, you’ve come across several Churches in your adventure if you’ve already acquired a Cursed item. Keep exploring and you’ll find the divine sanctuary to lift that curse off you!
Approach the priest inside the church and opt for the Blessing ritual. Keep in mind that every time you do this, it’ll cost 240 Gold. This ritual will help in removing the curse from the item you are wearing, but remember, even after the blessing, the item remains cursed. So, exercise caution while deciding who among your party members should possess the cursed item or equipment piece.
Cursed Equipment in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
Regarding the cursed artifacts discovered within the remake of Dragon Quest III, we’ve stumbled upon three thus far. It’s quite possible that additional ones await discovery throughout the realm.
- The Cower Ring has an Agility level of 37, but it also changes the wearer’s Personality to Wimp. Having Wimp as a personality makes your Wisdom and Luck increase fast, but Agility increases slowly. This one is in a barrel in the Path of Promise (B2).
- Golden Claws has an attack of 62 and can be found in the base of the Pyramid dungeon. This one causes random battles every step you take, but it only does that when you’re in that pyramid.
- The Mask of Implacability makes the wearer constantly Confused, but Defense increases to 520. If a party member gets confused in battle, they’ll start to attack their teammates. This one is in Orochi’s Lair.
