In the anticipated game, Borderlands 4, everyone’s favorite (or perhaps least favorite) robot, Claptrap, makes a comeback. Though he’s adored by some for his boisterous spirit and humorous nature, many find him annoying due to his relentless chatter and questionable moral compass.
On Pandora, he was often seen as a bothersome nuisance, and that sentiment seems to follow him into the new world. However, for those starting Borderlands 4, there’s some good news: Gearbox Software has included an option to mute Claptrap directly within the game. This means players won’t need to search for mods or additional tools to finally find peace and quiet from this chatty robot sidekick.
How to Mute/Unmute Claptrap in Borderlands 4
In the settings of Borderlands 4, gamers can reach the Advanced Audio Options, where they will find a tab labeled Claptrap at the bottom. To silence Claptrap, players can alter the volume level from this audio tab as desired, choosing to keep him at his original sound levels or reducing them slightly so he doesn’t constantly yell in your ear. If preferred, you can completely mute Claptrap, ensuring he won’t disturb you again. Although Claptrap remains part of the game and his side missions are still accessible, players will only comprehend his speech if they enable subtitles. For some players, this might be a welcome change as it allows them to focus more on their gameplay.
