While playing Nioh 3, you’ll encounter various types of damage, and Life Corrosion is one of the most troublesome. It steadily reduces your health, permanently lowering your maximum Life. Luckily, it’s relatively easy to cure, and using a Jizo Blessing can simplify the process. Here’s a guide on how to remove Life Corrosion in Nioh 3.
How To Remove Life Corrosion In Nioh 3

Okay, so in the Crucible and Lesser Crucible, if enemies hit me, I can get something called Life Corrosion. It’s basically a health debuff – it lowers my max health. Even using a Crucible Weapon and taking damage at the same time can give me this. The bad part is, it doesn’t just go away on its own; I need to do something specific to get rid of it.
You can get rid of Life Corrosion by attacking enemies. Regular attacks will gradually reduce it, and a strong attack from behind, like an assassination, will remove most of it. While in Ninja Style, using Ninjutsu skills such as Shuriken and Kunai will also slowly decrease the corrosion.
You can also reliably protect against Life Corrosion by improving your Elixir with a Jizo Blessing. To earn Jizo Merit, find and pray at all six Jizo statues scattered throughout the game world – each prayer gives you 50 Merit.
When you visit a Shrine, go to the Jizo Blessing to spend your points. These points, called Merits, are mostly used to help players survive the challenges in the Crucible. Here’s a list of the upgrades you can get:
| Jizo Blessing | Effect |
|---|---|
| Life Corrosion Recovery (Crucible) | Cures Life Corrosion and restores Life while using Elixir. |
| Elixir Drop Rate (Crucible) | Increase the Drop Rate of Elixirs while in the Crucible. |
| Corrosion Recovery (Guardian Spirit Skill) | Increase the amount of Life Corrosion cured when using a Guardian Spirit Skill. |
| Melee Damage (Crucible) | Increase damage dealt by melee attacks while in the Crucible. |
Each blessing has three stages of improvement, and each stage costs 50 Jizo Merit to unlock. Fully upgrading a blessing, therefore, requires a total of 150 Merit.

Once you’ve upgraded the Life Corrosion Recovery (Crucible) even once, you can use an Elixir to heal a little bit of Life Corrosion. Upgrading it further lets you restore more of your health.
You can also use Corrosion Recovery (a Guardian Spirit Skill), but it’s less consistent because you have to wait for the skill to recharge before you can use it again.
