Yet, it’s important to note that the game’s heroes do not necessarily have to meet their end, as players can intervene and save each one by making crucial decisions at various points throughout the game’s many chapters.
As players progress through the game, they’ll encounter numerous tranquil forest dwellers. It’s essential that they avoid causing harm to any of these woodland companions, as doing so could potentially prevent them from achieving the game’s optimal result. Nevertheless, the development team at Supermassive Games has crafted numerous difficult obstacles for players to overcome.

one offers a safer yet slower route with the potential risk of arriving too late, and the other is riskier, featuring quick time events that require immediate player response. Here are your options for progression:

Moving at a leisurely pace in this scenario could lead to Jess meeting an unfortunate end. Players might initially find Jess immobile, but disaster strikes soon afterward, causing her to vanish temporarily until a subsequent chapter. As you continue, the perspective will shift to Chris, who will hear Ashley calling out for help. In the role of Chris, you’ll have to make a decision: either Save Ashley or Save Josh. Opt for the action that saves Ashley. Despite the grim fate that seems to befall Josh, it’s essential to remember that saving everyone is still within reach. Shortly after this sequence, Chris and Ashley will encounter Matt and Emily.

Following Chris’ rescue, we’ll cut to a scene with Dr. Hill before the beginning of Chapter 5. Continue playing as Mike until you change to Matt. Remember to Stay Calm, as Until Dawn prefers not to harm any of the animals – only the monsters. Navigate past these creatures peacefully, and climb your way up to the top of the tower where you’ll discover a box containing a flare gun.
In this scenario, you should select the choice where Matt acquires the gun. He’ll require it later when he’s being pursued by the Wendigo. Once the tower falls and Emily is in peril, the game will hand control over to Matt. The players will then face a decision: either Save Emily or Jump To Safety. In this case, opt for the choice Save Emily.
The narrative will return to Chris and Ashley’s story, continuing until you encounter another deadly trap and a gun that’s been loaded. You’ll find yourself facing two circles, one hovering above Chris and the other above Ashley. Choose the circle close to Chris, and the screen will turn red.
Important Choices in Chapter 8
In Chapter 7, you don’t have to fret about any decisions; however, Chapter 8 presents some crucial ones to guarantee survival for all characters. It’s also important to note that Josh is not deceased, and the possibility remains for everyone to make it till dawn—including Josh. As for the players, they will discover themselves in an underground setting, taking on the role of Emily in Chapter 8.
This requirement is the most action-oriented one yet. The character, in this case, the player, encounters a Wendigo born from cannibalism. To ensure Chris’s safe return to the cabin, the player must eliminate all the circles or targets. If they fail to do so, Chris perishes. However, once Chris is securely inside the cabin, be aware that one of these circles will appear on Emily in the subsequent scene – it’s crucial to avoid shooting Emily.
Important Choices in Chapter 9
In this scenario, first, you’ll play an extended sequence featuring Mike, followed by a transition where you take control as Ashley. At a critical point, Ashley will get separated from the group and you’ll hear someone (not Jess) in distress, which could potentially mean losing Ashley. You’ll have two options: Investigate Voice or Rejoin Group. Both choices could save Ashley, but investigating might lead to her death. However, there’s a Totem on the path of Investigate Voice. To guarantee Ashley’s survival, it would be wise to opt for Rejoin Group.
Important Choices in Chapter 10
In the climactic, undeniably nerve-wracking chapter, there are numerous instances where you can choose to conceal certain moments. It’s strongly advised to choose concealment whenever these opportunities arise. This applies especially when Matt and Jess need to hide together following the scene where Mike and Sam discover Josh. Furthermore, in this version of the game, players will have a new feature: the ability to include Josh as one of the characters they choose to rescue, which was not an option in the original “Until Dawn” game.
Follow the left side until you reach a spot where you can find a diary left behind by Hannah. If Mike comments that the area is becoming inclined again, then turn back as you might have overlooked the diary. Mike only mentions this when following the main storyline.
In the last stage of the game, Mike’s safety is on the line, giving Sam two options: To Run or Risk Lifesaving. Choose to Save Mike, and both will walk away unscathed. Stick to the essential steps, and everyone will live to see another day. But beware, Josh may not make it without gathering all the game’s hidden hints in an unexpected manner. The grand finale of the game will present a final cutscene that subtly suggests a continuation of the storyline.
