The Herder’s Lament is a challenge in Crimson Desert where you need to sell 3 goats. It’s a bit tricky because the game doesn’t tell you who Bram is, where to find him, or which ranch the challenge refers to, causing confusion for many players. Here’s a guide to help you complete it.

You can find the Herder’s Lament Sealed Abyss Artifact northwest of Hernand, right under the second ‘N’ in the town’s name, next to the road. It’s hidden near a small pile of rocks. If you’re close by, using the Blinding Flash ability will make the artifact glow, helping you spot it.

How to Sell 3 Goats to Bram at the Ranch in Crimson Desert

The Herder’s Lament Challenge

To sell 3 goats to Bram in Crimson Desert, you’ll need to do two things:

  • Unlock the Ranch by completing the mission “Field of Abundance” to get Bram as a livestock vendor.
  • Catch three goats and bring them to Bram at the Howling Hill camp ranch.

How to Unlock the Ranch and Bram

You’ll find Bram, a vendor, at Howling Hill Camp after finishing the Greymanes faction quest “Field of Abundance.” He’s located in the “Grounds of the Sunrise” area. Here’s what you need to do to make him appear:

  • Progress to Chapter 3/4 of the main story in Crimson Desert.
  • Complete all missions under the “Grounds of the Sunrise” section for the Greymanes faction until you unlock “Field of Abundance” and “Land of Dreams.”
  • Send a Dispatch Mission to do the “Cow Milking” mission at the Bloomwood Ranch through Ross (or directly from the map).
  • Complete “Field of Abundance” and build the ranch by doing the “Howling Hill – Ranch Built” mission for the Greymanes.

Once the Howling Hill ranch is established, you can find Bram standing near the butcher, right under the sign with the gold coins.

How to Find 3 Goats to Sell in Crimson Desert

You can find goats near your Home in the Crimson Desert, just east of Howling Hill and above the Dragon’s Stone Chamber. A large group of wild goats regularly appears in this open field, and because they aren’t owned by anyone, you’re free to take them.

To complete the Herder’s Lament challenge, you need to catch a goat three times and deliver it to Bram at the Howling Hill ranch. Simply run after a goat, then go inside Bram’s stall – it’s the one located in the middle of the ranch – and he’ll automatically take the goat from you. Doing this three times will unlock the Sealed Abyss Artifact.

Avoid catching baby goats since they cannot be carried back on horseback.
