Getting ready for this match involves setting a tactic called Keyman Lockdown in the Team Dock, which can be a little tricky to figure out. This guide will help you understand how to set up Keyman Lockdown and how to use it effectively during a match in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road.

Setting up Keyman Lockdown should be straightforward for most players. However, we’ve found a problem when using it alongside a traditional keyboard and mouse setup. We’ll cover this in the last part of this guide, but we strongly recommend using a controller whenever possible.

How to Set Keyman Lockdown in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road

Buy Keyman Lockdown Tactic

To start the Keyman Lockdown, you first need to buy the tactic. You can find it at the “Friendly Match – By the Football Club Room” location on the west side of South Cirrus Junior High. The pictures above will help you find it, and show you what to do once you get there.

  1. Interact with the marker.
  2. Select Special Training Booth.
  3. Navigate to the Tactics tab.
  4. Purchase Keyman Lockdown for three Zeal tokens.

Set Keyman Lockdown

Okay, so I just got this tactic and it’s pretty cool! To set it up, you first need to open the menu and go to the Team Dock tab at the top. Then, look down towards the bottom-left of your screen – you’ll see something called ‘Team Dock RPG’. There’s a little button or input field right next to that, and you need to click on it to get into the Team Dock SO menu. From there, just find one of those empty tactic slots under your manager’s picture and choose ‘Keyman Lockdown’ from the list. That’s it, you’re all set!

How to Use Keyman Lockdown in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road

Okay, so in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, when you’re battling the Baseball Club, the game tells you to use something called Keyman Lockdown after your first shot. They do give you a quick tutorial, but honestly, it’s a little confusing. So, here’s a breakdown of how it works, just in case you’re like me and need a little more help figuring it out!

Controller

In Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, controller users can activate a Keyman Lockdown by following these steps:

  1. Hold L1/LB to make the set tactics appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  2. Press the input associated with Keyman Lockdown. This should be Triangle/Y.
  3. Move your joystick toward the target (Thierry in this instance). This will cause an orange ring to move across the field.
  4. When the target is inside the ring, press the Confirm input to execute the tactic.

Keyboard & Mouse

Using Keyman Lockdown with a keyboard and mouse is very similar to using it with a controller, and the initial steps are the same. Players need to hold the Tab key to access tactic options and then select the Keyman Lockdown tactic to begin. However, once the tactic starts, players are currently unable to move the orange targeting ring with their mouse or keyboard, which is frustrating. While a fix may be coming in a future update, here are some workarounds players can use in the meantime.

  1. Initiate the Keyman Lockdown when the character that will use the tactic is right on top of the target. This should make it possible to confirm the target without moving anything.
  2. Set up a virtual controller to emulate controller inputs.
