The new ‘ARC Raiders’ update introduces the Acoustic Guitar, a powerful Legendary instrument. Players can obtain it by completing a tricky puzzle in Buried City—often called the music note puzzle. Alternatively, you can trade with other players or, less ethically, defeat a musician on the surface.
Okay, so I figured out how to solve that music puzzle in ARC Raiders on the Buried City map! It lets you get an Acoustic Guitar, which is pretty cool. I’m sharing what I learned, and I’ve included a few tips for anyone else trying to get it – hopefully, it makes things a little easier!
How to Get an Acoustic Guitar
Okay, so in ARC Raiders, if you want a Guitar, you’ve gotta head to the Red Tower in Buried City and solve this music puzzle. Basically, it’s fifteen buttons you need to hit in the right order – it’s based on music notes! Get it right, and a hidden room opens up, and it’s full of Guitars. It took me a bit, but it’s totally worth it!
The Red Tower puzzle in ARC Raiders is different from others – the buttons are always in the same spots. The tricky part isn’t finding the buttons, it’s remembering the correct order to press all fifteen of them before the area is destroyed.

Buried City Music Note Puzzle Explained
Image via Embark Studios In the Buried City, north of the Red Tower, you’ll find an abandoned building with a locked door to the right of the entrance. This door is decorated with lights and a musical note. Inside, search for a bar area – on one of the walls you’ll discover a short piece of musical notation. This notation is the key to unlocking the door. Simply find the buttons that match the symbols in the notation and press them in the correct order. Doing so will open the door and reward you with two Legendary Acoustic Guitars.
Okay, so here’s the frustrating part: if you mess up the button sequence, you have to start the whole puzzle over! And honestly, it takes a while to go through it, so I’ve even had to restart the entire game just to get enough time to finish it. It’s a bit annoying, but I’m determined to crack it!
When the buttons are pressed in the right order, they light up.

The secret room in the Red Tower opens only if you press the buttons in the correct sequence, as displayed on the table, all within the same game.
First Button: The Building Across Farmacia
To solve the first puzzle, go to the abandoned house across from the drugstore in Plaza Rosa. Go all the way to the top floor, enter the kitchen, and press the button hidden behind the cupboards.
Second Button: Galleria Basement
Head down to the basement of the Galleria. You’ll find a group of large gas tanks tucked away in a corner – just follow the big red pipes to find them. The second button for the music puzzle is located right beside these tanks.
Third Button: Warehouse Rooftop
Head to the Warehouse and go up to the roof. Look for a group of skylights. The third button is close by, hidden in a crack in the building’s structure.
Fourth Button: Marano Park Bookstore
A small, abandoned bookstore is located in Marano Park in ARC Raiders. You’ll find the fourth button inside.
Fifth Button: Grandios Apartments, Sixth Floor
Go to the top floor of the Grandios Apartments. You’ll find a piano with oil paintings nearby, and the button you’re looking for is close to it.
Sixth Button: Piazza Arbusto
In Arbusto Square, you’ll see a blue building with a distinctive tower designed to catch the wind. The sixth button is located on the building’s edge.
Seventh Button: The Bus Near the Library
Outside the Library, there is a decayed bus. Inside, you can find the seventh music puzzle button.
Eighth Button: Corso de Vinci, Yellow Building
Head to the yellow building close to Corso de Vinci, and go up to the top floor. You’ll find a piano there, and the eighth button is located in the bedroom right next to it.
Ninth Button: South of Buried Properties
Close to the Buried Properties, you’ll see a Field Depot. To the right of the depot is an old building with something that looks like a generator. The ninth button is located right next to it, on the left side.
Tenth Button: Hospital Basement
Enter the hospital through the entrance by the subway. You’ll see a staircase cluttered with wet floor signs and boxes. Look for the tenth musical note hidden underneath the stairs, and the button is close by, attached to one of the wall panels.
Eleventh Button: Abandoned Highway Camp
Continue along the Abandoned Highway until it divides. The next music note button is hidden under one of the resulting sections. You can use the rooftops nearby to get down to it.
Twelfth Button: Church Ruins
Okay, so I need to head to the Church Ruins and look for this house that’s mostly underground. Apparently, the twelfth button is hidden somewhere around its chimney – I’ll have to check carefully around there!
Thirteenth Button: Santa Maria Houses
Look in the attic of a house on the west side of the Santa Maria Houses to find the thirteenth button.
Fourteenth Button: Piazza Roma
Next to the street, just outside Piazza Roma, you’ll find a small, tower-shaped building. The fourteenth button that plays music is on that building.
Fifteenth (Final) Button: North of the Red Tower
Once you’ve successfully pressed all fourteen buttons in the right sequence, go back to the Red Tower and press the button on the locked door. This will solve the puzzle, open the secret room, and allow you to collect a set of Legendary Acoustic Guitars.
Tips for Getting the Acoustic Guitar Faster
- Familiarize yourself with the buttons’ locations. Before attempting the puzzle, take some time to find each button and learn where they are. This way, during the actual run, you can focus on pressing them in the correct order instead of wasting time searching.
- Bring plenty of ziplines. You will need to move across the map quickly to press all the music puzzle buttons within the time limit, so having several ziplines helps you bypass obstacles and travel faster.
- Use Adrenalin Shots. Fill your inventory with ARC Raiders‘ Adrenalin Shots to keep moving quickly without interruptions, as pressing all the buttons in a single match is otherwise very challenging.
