How to Start Assassin’s Creed Shadows X Attack on Titan Quests

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is currently hosting a special event inspired by Attack on Titan. Players can earn exclusive cosmetic items, weapons, and take on a new questline as part of the collaboration. The event includes two quests: Beyond the Walls and the Descent.

Finish these quests to unlock a special new katana with a unique look for your character. But hurry – this questline is only available until December 22, 2025, so be sure to complete it and claim the katana before it disappears!

How to Start Assassin’s Creed Shadows X Attack on Titan Quests (Beyond the Walls)

Once you’ve unlocked Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the “Beyond the Walls” quest—a special collaboration with Attack on Titan—will become available. If you’ve already unlocked Yasuke, find the quest marker for “Beyond the Walls” in the Yamashiro region. This area is located northeast of Kyoto and east of the Genbu Highlands.

As a huge fan, I’m really excited about the Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Attack on Titan crossover! You can actually start the quests playing as either Naoe or Yasuke, which is awesome. But here’s the thing – you’ll need to switch between them later on. Some parts of the quests are designed for Naoe’s skills, while others really need Yasuke’s fighting style to get through.

The fastest way to reach the quest’s starting point is to fast travel to Hanazono Castle. Once you arrive, jump down and follow the quest marker. You’ll find the bodies of fallen Survey Corps soldiers from Attack on Titan along the way.

To begin the “Beyond the Walls” quest in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Attack on Titan collaboration, speak to the soldier resting near the large rock.

After beginning the quest, return to Hanazono Castle and go towards the ruins at its center. You’ll hear enemies interrogating a prisoner. Go inside and defeat the enemies to set the prisoner free.

After you’ve handled the current danger, release the prisoner, and you’ll meet Ada, a new character from the Attack on Titan universe and member of the Survey Corps. Once you’ve spoken with her briefly, choose the “I’m ready to follow Ada” option to begin the main quest of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Attack on Titan crossover, called “The Descent.”

Completing this quest is rewarding because you’ll earn a powerful, legendary katana called Cavern Shard. This katana has a special visual effect, turning the arm of either Yasuke or Naoe into ice. It also features a unique design called the Reactive Shell, which can be applied to other weapons if you visit a blacksmith.
