How to Access the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC
Upon visiting the Nintendo Switch 2’s eShop to buy the downloadable content (DLC) for Donkey Kong Bananza, we installed the new content and launched the game. If you’ve already viewed the credits for Bananza, all you need to do is travel to the nearest Fast Travel Warp Gong location. The specific Layer you’re in won’t affect this journey.
After striking the gong, the elevator will inform you that their husband was mind-controlled by a cruel villain, and then they can guide you to DK Island. The new “Level” will be at the top of the level list. Upon arrival, simply head to the hut near the beach and converse with Squawks to initiate the adventure. He’ll direct you to speak with Void Kong, and that’s when the “Emerald Rush mode” will become accessible.
You can catch a sneak peek of DK Island by conversing with Squawks at the Racing Layer, but you won’t be able to physically set foot on the island until you conquer the final boss and reach the game’s conclusion in Donkey Kong Bananza.
How to Start Emerald Rush in Other Layers
Canyon Layer Is First
After finishing Emerald Rush on DK Island for the very first time, you’ll garner points towards unveiling additional playfields (or Layers) for Emerald Rush. Currently, only Canyon, Hilltop, Lagoon, and Feast appear to be the other layers that can be unlocked in this new mode. Among them, you will acquire the Canyon Layer first.
To initiate Emerald Rush, simply converse with Void Kong on DK Island, and a selection of options will become available for you.
