How to Start the Fellhollow Expansion in RuneScape Dragonwilds

The RuneScape Dragonwilds Fellhollow update introduces a significant new area to the game, along with better equipment and challenging new monsters. This dark, ghoul-infested land isn’t recommended for new players. However, if you’re brave enough to explore, this guide will walk you through how to unlock access to Fellhollow and what you’ll find when you arrive.

How to Enter Fellhollow in RuneScape Dragonwilds

To begin the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Fellhollow expansion, players must first finish the “Dragon Slayer” quest in the original game and then defeat the dragon Velgar, who can be found at the top of Velgar’s Rise.

After you beat the Dragon, find the Wise Old Man – he’ll be waiting at the base of Velgar’s Rise. If you’ve already finished the Dragon Slayer quest, you can find him on top of the ruins in Bramblemead Valley instead. No matter when you speak to him after the update, it will start a new quest called Withering Heights.

Once you begin the Withering Heights quest in RuneScape’s Dragonwilds Fellhollow, you’ll need to go to the northeastern part of the Fractured Plains. It’s a good idea to bring materials to make one or two Lodestones beforehand, as they’ll help you quickly travel back and forth between the areas.

Speak with the Wise Old Man at the marked location. He’ll explain a secret gate that needs a password. After you’ve finished talking to him, walk through the archway and continue along the path until you reach a big wooden door.

Once you’ve approached the door, say “Mors, Introitum Quaero!“. This will open the door and transport you to the beginning of Fellhollow.

Head up the winding, spooky path to the castle and you’ll find a mysterious figure seated on a throne. This figure is revealed to be Death, who also acts as a shopkeeper. You can trade Soul Fragments with Death to get new items.

Once you’ve finished talking, go to the path on the right to find Postie Pete, a floating skull you’ll see sitting at a table.

You’ll now see a glowing, see-through door on your right, past the area with the red goo. Go through this door to enter the Fellhollow region of RuneScape Dragonwilds and continue with the Withering Heights quest.
