In the one-player version of ‘Ready or Not’, you’ll encounter 4 AI teammates joining you in combat, offering valuable assistance during tough missions. The characters you’ll find in ‘Ready or Not’ can be customized extensively with various equipment and unique traits. There are a total of 12 officer traits in the game, mastering which can significantly enhance your gaming experience. However, some players might not know how to switch between officers to reap these benefits initially.
How to Change Officers in Ready or Not

In the game “Ready or Not”, players can change officers if they’re dealing with high stress levels or just wish to experiment with different officer traits. To do this, players need to press Tab/Touch Pad while in the Police Headquarters. This action opens a tablet, where you can view your Team Roster. By clicking one of the four characters in the center of the screen (identified by their gear), you’ll enter the “Select An Officer” screen. Here, you simply need to pick an off-duty officer from your roster to replace the current active officer.
Here’s a brief overview of what to do:
- Hold Tab (Keyboard) or Touch Pad (Controller) to open up the tablet
- Click either Officers 1, 2, 3, or 4 from the active roster
- Click an off-duty officer from the bottom roster
This feature enables officers to log off, providing players with an opportunity to encounter unique officer characteristics, often referred to as Special Qualifications. If players find unwanted duplicate traits among their officers, they can swap out an officer by accessing the profile at the base of the tablet screen and pressing the ‘Reset’ button. This action frees up the officer slot for players to choose a new officer with three randomly assigned traits.
