In Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, players can personalize their character with distinct clothing items. These not only boost the character’s stats based on the item worn, but they are also visible on your character and party members as you traverse the game world. However, there might be instances where you dislike a character’s appearance when wearing a specific hat, yet desire its combat advantages. Luckily, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma offers a convenient “transmogrification” system to resolve this predicament.
What is Transmog?
Substance Without the Style
Throughout various games, the feature known as ‘transmogrification’ has been introduced. Essentially, this function lets players use a piece of equipment without their character appearing to wear it within the game. This means players can choose to don a different item that appeals more to them aesthetically, or opt for no additional gear at all, while still having access to their most powerful armor or accessories. It’s important to note that this ‘transmog’ system is not limited to the main character; it can be applied to all characters in a player’s party as well.
How to Transmog in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
A Simple System in the Menus
To transform or customize your character, navigate to the “Equipment” or “Appearance” section within the game’s main menu. On Xbox, press the Menu button; on PlayStation, press the Options button; and on Nintendo Switch systems, press the + button. Once you’re in the menu, pick the “Customize Appearance” or “Edit Character” option at the top of the screen. Now, you can select the clothes and accessories you prefer for your character. Remember, this is just a visual change, it won’t affect your character’s abilities. If you don’t want to wear anything in a specific slot, opt for the “Minimal Look” or “Simple Appearance” option for each armor piece.
After completing the task, navigate to the ‘Edit Equipment’ option at the screen’s top. Here, you can pick the equipment item that your character will use. For gameplay effectiveness, opt for the gear with superior stats. Once decided, just leave the menus and get back to playing.
You can only transform (change the appearance of) the armor parts that you have equipped on your character, not weapons or accessories.
In Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, the Transmog system is applicable not just for your character but also for those who embark on adventures alongside you. To customize their loadouts, navigate through the ‘Gear’ menu by using the left and right shoulder buttons (LB/L1/L or RB/R1/R). For optimal combat effectiveness, it’s advisable to frequently update your party members’ gear as you advance in the main storyline. This will ensure that your chosen companions are armed with robust equipment that can truly aid you during battles.
