The first hour of StarRupture gently introduces you to gathering resources and building your base on Arcadia-7, but it doesn’t show you the dangerous creatures roaming the planet. You’ll soon realize your basic harvesting tool isn’t enough to explore further, so you might be asking how to unlock better weapons. This guide will explain the process, helping you get more firepower for your adventure.
How to Unlock Weapons in StarRupture
You can unlock new weapons in two ways: by completing levels at Griffits Blue Corporation, or by using War Bonds at the Equipment Upgrade Station.
You can improve your standing with Griffits Blue Corporation by completing orders, which usually involve Titanium products. By doing so, you’ll be able to unlock these weapons:
- UPP-7 Pistol: Unlocked at level 2 with the Griffits Blue Corporation
- Grenade: Unlocked at level 3 with the Griffits Blue Corporation
For the remaining weapons, you’ll need to get and use War Bonds at the Equipment Upgrade Station.
These can be purchased for the following amounts:
- MAR-9 ‘”Phantom” Assault Rifle: Costs 70 War Bonds at the Equipment Upgrade Station
- SLAMS-12 Shotgun: Costs 85 War Bonds at the Equipment Upgrade Station
- M175 “GRIM”: Costs 110 War Bonds at the Equipment Upgrade Station
How to Get War Bonds Easily
As I’ve been playing, I’ve found you can get War Bonds just by leveling up with the Griffits Blue Corporation. You can earn up to 240 of them that way, but honestly, it’s not quite enough to get everything you want. It’s a good start, though!
After you gather those initial items, you’ll need to explore the environment – check corpses, deserted places, and hidden containers – to find even more.
How to Unlock the Equipment Upgrade Station
To unlock the Equipment Upgrade Station, you first need to reach level 4 with the Griffits Blue Corporation. This means earning 6,400 points, mostly by turning in either Titanium Sheets or Wolfram Plates. You can unlock the recipes for these materials at the Recipe Station.
- Titanium Sheet: 600 Titanium Bars + 400 Data Points
- Wolfram Plate: 600 Wolfram Bars + 400 Data Points
After you’ve learned a new recipe, go to your Fabricator and pick the new material. Then, find it in your Orbital Cargo Launcher under Griffits Blue Corporation and let the order finish processing.
You can speed up your advancement by sending Data Points to a company directly from your habitat’s screen.
