How to Unlock DigiRide in Digimon Story Time Stranger

In Digimon Story: Time Stranger, players can travel between the Real and Digital Worlds in a number of ways, and one of these is DigiRide. This feature lets you ride on certain Digimon, which makes you move faster and protects you from enemy surprise attacks. This allows for quicker exploration and even lets you travel between areas to reset them for farming Materials, Data, Money, and EXP.

If you’re eager to travel quickly in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, this guide explains everything you need to know about the DigiRide system. It also details which Digimon you can use as Mounts in the game.

How to Unlock Mounts in Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Like I was saying earlier, the DigiRide feature doesn’t work with *all* Digimon in the game, just a select few. They need to be at least Champion or Armor Stage to even be able to carry you around, and even then, not every Digimon at those levels can be used as a mount. So, how do you actually Mount your Digimon in Digimon Story: Time Stranger? I know the game can feel a little confusing when you first start, but getting the mount ability is actually pretty simple.

To begin, players must complete the initial two areas-the Tokyo Government Building and the Shinjuku Area-before they can enter the Digital World through a portal and arrive in Illiad’s Central Town. After finishing the introductory section and exploring the edges of Illiad, the Digimon will guide you to speak with Merukimon. Doing so will trigger a message on your DigiVice, letting you know that the DigiRide feature is now enabled. You can then activate it by pressing R (on PC) or R1/RB (on Consoles).

However, you need to have a DigiRide-compatible Digimon in your Party to be able to ride it. You can spot these Digimon by a small symbol next to their Level Indicator, letting you know they can be used as a Mount. To use the DigiRide Feature, these rideable Digimon must be in either your First Row or Reserve – otherwise, the feature won’t activate. Here are some of the Digimon available as mounts in the game:

There are even more to discover, as the game features a massive roster of 400 Digimon that players can befriend, train, and battle. Players can select their favorite Digimon to ride around the Digital World, but it’s important to remember that each Digimon has unique collision properties and movement speeds. This means some DigiRides might not be able to access certain areas, while others can pass through easily, and naturally, some Digimon are simply faster than others. It’s up to the player to choose the best Digimon for navigating each map.
