How To Unlock High Rank Zoh Shia In Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Zoh Shia serves as the ultimate adversary. This colossal, crystal-encrusted beast subsists on the Dragontorch. Unlike other massive monsters in the game, once you defeat it during the campaign, there are no further chances to battle it again. Regrettably, after its demise, it doesn’t provide any equipment to farm or upgrade.

With Title Update 1, things are about to shift as a new story mission, titled “A First Cry,” has been incorporated. This fresh chapter brings High Rank Zoh Shia into the game for the first time. Defeating this new character will grant you exclusive material rewards. You can then utilize these materials to craft unique armor and weapons themed around the beast.

Talk To Werner

The adventure starts following a conversation with Werner in Suja. During this conversation, he’ll tell you that Zoh Shia remains active. Your task then is to look into this matter by returning to the Dragontorch.

Alma will strongly advise that you don’t step out without being fully prepared, and you’ll be given a chance to gather your armor and necessary items before setting off. Remember to prepare a meal for yourself, as High Rank Zoh Shia is significantly tougher than its lower level version, so every bit of support will come in handy.

When you’re ready to leave, speak to Alma, and you’ll be taken to the encounter.

Zoh Shia Boss Fight

The Zoh Shia High-Rank Fight resembles a climactic boss battle. Be sure to dodge its Area of Effect (AoE) attacks, which are typically signaled by its movements and symbols on the ground. Since it’s vulnerable to Dragon element, using weapons infused with that attribute is advisable.

During the interaction, Zoh Shia is going to conjure Wyklrystals. These will attack you to cause harm, but you can disarm them by swiftly firing elemental ammunition from your Slinger at them before they do any damage. Such ammo can be found scattered across the arena.

After defeating the monster, you’ll see another scene where Erik explains that Zoh Shia has a unique ability to regenerate, similar to a form of asexual reproduction, implying that you may face it again in the future. Once this dialogue is over, the quest will be considered finished, and you’ll receive your Guild Points and progress in your Hunter Rank.

You’ve just gained access to the High Rank Zoh Shia hunts, but I regret to inform you that as of Title Update 1, there isn’t an additional quest available for convenient farming straight away. However, you can keep a tab on Zoh Shia investigations when they appear in Ruins of Wyveria and save them for later.
