Similar to *Vampire Survivors*, *Megabonk* offers a variety of characters to play. While two are available from the start, you’ll need to unlock the rest. Unlocking methods vary in difficulty, but to play as Monke, you’ll need to find and free him within the Forest map, which is the first level in *Megabonk*.
Megabonk players will also get the Monke achievement once the character is unlocked.
How to Find Monke in Megabonk and Open His Cage (Golden Key)

To unlock Monke in Megabonk, you need to both find and free him in the Forest and buy the Bananarang weapon. You’ll eventually find the Bananarang during a game run, and after unlocking it, you can purchase it from the Unlock section of the menu.
After completing that step, you’ll need to find a Golden Key while exploring the Forest. It seems the key appears randomly on the ground, but it’s not guaranteed. If you run over it, it will be added to your inventory, allowing you to free Monke from his cage.

The tricky thing is that Monke won’t show up on the map, so after you get the key, you’ll have to quickly run, jump, and slide around the Forest to locate it. Keep in mind the cage is quite small, making it hard to spot right away. Also, the cage doesn’t always appear on the map.
Once you’ve met the necessary conditions, you can return to the unlock screen in the main menu and buy Monke for 18 coins.
What Does Monke Do in Megabonk?

Monke begins each round with the Bananarang, a weapon that returns to them after it’s thrown, like a boomerang. Monke can also climb walls, and leveling up their Megabonk skill will increase their maximum health.
