Every Nightfarer is assigned a unique memory mission. These serve as personal narratives that grant access to exclusive artifacts such as relics, chalices, and skins. Memories aren’t as cryptic as the usual quests from FromSoftware, but finishing every memory can be quite challenging.

Recluse offers one of Nightreign’s simpler memory tasks, but it can still be challenging to finish. In this guide, we’ll walk you through completing all seven stages of Recluse’s remembrance questline, explaining everything from how to initiate it to the rewards you’ll receive throughout the series of events. Before diving into the details, let’s discuss how you can unlock the remembrance quest chain in Roundtable Hold.

How To Start Recluse’s Remembrance Quest

Just like other Nightfarers, you’ll find the beginning of Recluse’s remembrance mission in the journal at the Roundtable Hold. Once you’ve vanquished your initial Nightlord alongside Recluse, interacting with the journal will initiate her questline. This interaction will transport you to a separate instance of the Roundtable Hold, commencing with Chapter 1.

Chapters 1-3

In the initial stage, all you need to do is vanquish a Nightlord, using Recluse as your character in the game. Any adventure will suffice for this task; upon completion, it will open the way for the second chapter of her journal. Return to Roundtable Hold and scrutinize the journal to initiate her first step towards remembrance.

In Chapter 2, you will initiate the remembrance phase in Roundtable Hold. Make your way to the Iron Manial located in the western wing. There, he will challenge you to prove your commitment by defeating a corrupted creature of the night and gathering its Night Shard as proof. Essentially, this involves embarking on an expedition as Recluse, and you’ll be awarded a Night Shard among other rewards upon completing the mission successfully.

Head back to Roundtable Hold and hand over the shard to the Iron Manial as evidence of your accomplishment. You’ll find him near the Small Jar Market upon your return. Giving him the shard will earn you the Recluse’s Chalice as a quest reward. After that, return the shard to him, then conclude the remembrance event. Now, you can begin the next phase of Recluse’s questline. If her fourth chapter hasn’t been unlocked yet, vanquish a Nightlord before revisiting the journal again.

Chapters 4-5

In the fourth chapter, you’ll initiate another memory segment within Roundtable Hold. Begin your exploration by approaching the Site of Grace table and reading the message. This action will guide you to the beds in the Waiting Area section of Roundtable Hold. Enter the space and scrutinize the bed with the puddle of blue blood. Upon examination, this will conclude the memory segment and bestow upon you the Night’s Relic for Recluse.

Chapter 6-7

In the sixth part of Recluse’s narrative, you’ll be tasked with locating an individual hidden in Roundtable Hold. Look for them at the Sparring Arena, positioned on the northeastern corner of the central hub. You’ll spot Iron Menial near the tent used for customizing your character stats. If you engage him, you’ll sense something amiss. Engage and attack Iron Menial. Over time, he will morph into a likeness of Recluse herself. Converse with her until you read the text “A distant echo of a large door opening can be heard.“.



To proceed with the next part, you should locate the genuine Iron Menial. He can be found behind the door on the western side of Roundtable Hold, which is now unlocked. From the Small Jar Bazaar, go down the stairs to your right and make a left turn. Upon doing so, the previously locked door will be open. Sprint to the lower level where you’ll find the Iron Menial lying unconscious near a coffin. Interact with him to complete this memory section, thereby unlocking the “Bone-Like Stone” relic.

Chapter 7

With the acquisition of Recluse’s artifacts – the relics and chalice – only one challenge remains: conquering the ultimate expedition. Defeating four Nightlord bosses will grant access to the genuine battle with Night Lord. Upon victory, you’ll be transported to the Roundtable Hold via a remembrance sequence. Make your way to the beds in the waiting room and engage with the weeping baby to culminate the quest line. Successfully completing this chain will reward you with Recluse’s remembrance skin as a fitting conclusion.
