How to Unlock the Alpine Ibex Mount in Crimson Desert

Okay, so I just found out about this awesome mount called the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex! You get it by taking down a boss named Moren, the Mistwood Huntmaster, who’s hiding in the Wayward Woods area of Pailune in Crimson Desert. Once you beat him, he drops an item you can trade with any of the witches around Crimson Desert for a special token. Use that token, and bam! You can summon the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex as your mount. It looks amazing, and I’m definitely going after it!

How to Get the Ibex Mount in Crimson Desert

It’s unclear if you can find the boss simply by going to the location shown in the images. We personally encountered him after finishing a series of quests for the Pailune factions. If you don’t find Moren at the designated spot, we recommend completing those quests first.

  1. Complete all non-bounty missions for the Pailune Milita (15 quests in total).
  2. Unlock the White Bear mount.
  3. Complete the Soul Shepherd quests for the Skoghorn Tribe.

After completing all three tasks, the Longleaf Tribe will become visible in the Faction Quests section of your Journal, under Pailune. Make sure you’ve unlocked the “Sport Hunter” quest. If you don’t see it, go to Longleaf Village in Silver Wolf Mountain and check again.

Moren Boss Fight

This boss fight can be challenging. You’ll face a mounted archer riding a large Ibex, and his hunter tribe controls the area, so they’ll probably interfere. Moren will be wandering around the quest marker’s location. He’s hard to miss because of his mount’s size, but you can also track him by using your lantern to follow the yellow lines that appear as you move.

The simplest way to defeat Moren is by using Nature’s Snare combined with the unlocked Nature’s Retribution skill. Activate Focus mode and watch for Moren to draw his bow. When he shoots, use Nature’s Grasp to stop the arrows, then immediately use Nature’s Retribution to fire them back at him. Keep repeating this process until he’s defeated.

Moren has two health bars. When you reduce his health to zero the first time, he’ll vanish in a puff of smoke. After that, return to the designated area and search for him again.

Unlocking the Ibex Mount

After defeating Moren, visit any witch’s hut in the Crimson Desert and talk to the witch. Choose the “Craft Abyss Gear” option, and then switch to the “Special Items” tab. There, you’ll be able to craft a Sigil of Solidarity using the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex Horn you received from Moren. Craft the sigil, and then use it from your inventory to unlock the Ibex mount.

The Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex has the following stats:

  • 400 Health
  • 300 Stamina
  • 25 Attack
  • 0 Defense

Okay, so I was really excited about this mount, but honestly, it doesn’t seem any better than my trusty horse that I’ve spent ages leveling up. And it’s definitely not a powerhouse in a fight! If you’re looking for a mount that’s going to really give you an edge in combat or speed, you’re probably better off with something else.
