How To Unlock The Faker Archetype In Metaphor: ReFantazio

As a seasoned adventurer who’s delved into countless dungeons, I can confidently say that the guide you’ve crafted is a beacon of clarity for those embarking on their journey through Metaphor: ReFantazio. The step-by-step approach to battling Trove Imitec is nothing short of masterful, reminding me of the strategies I employed back in my days exploring the labyrinths of old.

Once they finish the primary story’s first major dungeon, players have the chance to join a Tournament, leading them to Martira, the Ancient Castle Town. Prior to advancing deeper into the narrative, players can choose from numerous side missions and bounties available to them. One such side mission is “A Dagger, A Ring, and A Rake“, which doesn’t have a time limit, so players can postpone it until they reach around Level 30 before attempting it.

This manual provides step-by-step instructions for completing the A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Quest, including strategies to overcome the boss within. Completing this quest will grant you access to the Faker Archetype in the game Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Based on the difficulty level selected by the player, the boss could have varying attack strategies.

How To Start A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Quest In Metaphor: ReFantazio

On the 29th of June at Thoroughfare Square in Martira, you can encounter a character known as the ‘Pompous Man’. Interacting with this person will initiate a brief sequence where a thief makes off with Grius’ Dagger. Converse with Cuculus who’s perched on a suitcase, and he’ll propose assisting you in exchange for the ‘Malveno’s Ring’, which can be found inside the ‘Abandoned Tomb’.

Beginning this journey calls for a Rank 2 level of Imagination, which players can boost by chatting with the Eloquent Elder in Grand Trad or perusing the Journey Log from the New World on the bookshelf within the Gauntlet Runner’s Library.

To avoid your party members falling asleep inside the Abandoned Tomb, it’s wise to purchase a good number of “Thrilling Tintinnabulators” at St. Fermis Church in Grand Trad. Moreover, make sure you unlock the “Merchant Archetype” as it’s incredibly helpful in this dungeon.

Once you’ve taken up the quest, look for the Abandoned Tomb marked on your map within the Gauntlet Runner. On your way to the Tomb, you’ll encounter Demo Man Goddard. This character is known for lowering your hit accuracy and evasion during combat.

Your supervisor is vulnerable to electric attacks, so make sure to include someone in your team who possesses an electric ability, either naturally or through an inherited skill.

During the battle midway through, my opponent began to relentlessly use an attack that lessened both my offensive capabilities and evasion chances, causing me to miss several of my skills over two turns. After successfully navigating this challenging encounter, I will take a moment to connect with my companions before proceeding to the Tomb.

What To Do In The Abandoned Tomb

In the Forgotten Mausoleum, the path veering right is where you’ll discover Malveno’s Ring, a locked item requiring a key for access. Be mindful, as numerous chests populate this labyrinth; opening some may trigger an ambush from hidden foes. The Pyrite Impostor has a vulnerability to Light-based attacks. Employing the Golden Strike, a move Merchant Archetype can use against enemies, consumes one of their turns.

Delve into the underground labyrinth until you spot “Plateau,” a feline friend, nestled by the northern part of the cave system. Remember to save your progress before moving on. Then, move left on your map to discover a substantial treasure chest. Opening it will initiate a battle with the formidable boss known as “Trove Imitec.

How To Beat Trove Imitec In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The boss has a Light Weakness, so the
Hama
Skill attack is quite effective.

  • Protagonist – Merchant
  • Hulkenburg – Merchant
  • Strohl – Brawler

In this game, Trove Imitec serves as a formidable Level 32 adversary, notorious for his cunning nature. Navigating his domain at a lower level makes him significantly more challenging. This boss has the unique ability to make two attacks in a row. Like other Imitec enemies in the dungeon, he is vulnerable to moves powered by Light Skills. Interestingly, the Merchant’s “Gold Attack” deals significant damage (500 Reeve) but also forces him to forfeit his next turn. To bait the boss and disrupt his attacks, players should employ the Gold Attack every turn.

You can inherit the Hama Skill from the Healer Archetype or use an Igniter with the Mage Light skill to exploit the boss’ weakness and get multiple turns. The Brawler Archetype is resistant to all the Physical Attacks the boss performs, so it is perfect to use on one of your party members. The boss does Physical Attacks on either one or all the party members and has the Sleepy Air attack, which can cause the Sleep Effect. This must be cured as soon as possible because follow-up attacks on the sleeping targets are Critical Hits and give the boss an additional turn.

Option A: Give your character the ability to heal its allies during a boss battle by acquiring the Healer’s skill.

After conquering the boss battle, return the Key to the stone wall you initially discovered at the entrance of the dungeon. Opening this wall will unveil another treasure chest containing Malveno’s Ring. Feel free to delve deeper into the dungeon and gather any remaining loot hidden within the chests, or choose to complete your quest by returning now. Some of the items waiting for you inside the Abandoned Tomb include:

  • Gold Beetle x1
  • Apprentice’s Abacus
  • Crimson Fangs
  • Sage’s Staff
  • Enigmatic Accessory
  • Magla Injection
  • Balm of Life
  • Hero’s Fruit
  • Spiked Gloves
  • Sandsilk Blouse
  • Twinkling Crystal
  • Scrap Metal

Upon reaching Town from the Deserted Tomb, make your way to Cuculus, who will later introduce himself as Alonzo and decide to join your party. Following your talk with Alonzo, you’ll gain access to the Faker Character Type, plus 15,000 Reeve (currency) that can be spent on equipment or boosting Courage.
