In Heartopia, you can earn achievements and badges as you explore, make friends, and complete everyday activities. One of the simplest to get is the Onsen Buddy Achievement Badge. It’s a fun and easy reward that doesn’t require any repetitive tasks, specific weather conditions, or complicated gameplay. All it takes is a friend and a short trip to one of Heartopia’s most peaceful spots. Keep reading to find out how to unlock the Onsen Buddy Achievement Badge in Heartopia.
How to Get the Onsen Buddy Achievement Badge
To get the Onsen Buddy badge, you first need to unlock the achievement system. This happens when you reach D.G. Member Level 15. You can check your progress by going to your D.G. Member page, swiping to Level 15, and looking for the message “Feature Unlocked: Achievement.”
The quickest way to increase your D.G. Member rank is by finishing the daily tasks given by NPCs. You can find these tasks in the Memo app on your in-game watch. You can also check your unlocked achievements using the Achievements app on your watch.
The “Onsen Buddy” achievement is a secret in the game Heartopia. You won’t know about it until you earn it! The clue for this achievement is: “Amidst the swirling steam, friendship quietly deepens.”
To get this reward, go to Onsen Mountain with a friend and both stand in one of the bright blue onsen pools. Make sure you’re standing in the pools, not on the central geyser or in the small puddles around the area – those won’t work!
A great place to do this is the onsen pool, located right beside the Bait the Insects Sonic Device. This is also where Insect Catching Events begin. Just jump in the water with a friend – no special gestures or actions are needed.
The achievement will unlock on its own as soon as both players are still in the water and the Onsen icon appears below your energy bar.
Rewards
After finishing this, you’ll get the Onsen Buddy badge and the Onsen title added to your profile. It’s one of the easiest hidden achievements in Heartopia.
Your player profile can show a maximum of three badges, along with what you earn by unlocking them, so pick the ones you want to display carefully.
