Players love exploring the huge open world of StarRupture, but many are having trouble finding their location on the in-game map. It seems the map is missing when players try to access their HUD.

How To Unlock the Map in StarRupture

New players arriving in Arcadia-7 might notice the map is missing from their screen, and think something’s broken. However, the map needs to be unlocked first. To do that, you’ll need to learn how to gather resources, craft items, and establish a supply line to the Orbital Station.

Players can unlock the Map by reaching Faction Level 3 with Moon Energy Corporation. To do this, they must either complete one of two tasks.

  • Deliver 500 Calcium Ores using the Orbital Launch Station
  • Deliver 1500 Data Points through the Corporate Terminal

The second method is simpler and faster. You can quickly earn 1500 Data Points by collecting and delivering Meteorite Cores or Ignitium to the Analysis Terminal if you know how.

Okay, so to get to Level 3, I had to build a whole production line. First, I placed an Extractor on a Wolfram Vein, then connected it to a Smelter. After that, it was all about getting those Wolfram Wires up to the Orbital Launcher Station. The trick is to set up a Commission with Moon Energy Corp, and then just wait for the delivery to finish. Once that’s done, boom – Level 3 unlocked!

Once completed, players can visit the Corporate Terminal to collect their level-up rewards and unlock the map. Pressing ‘M’ will then display the map showing areas they’ve explored. To fully unlock the entire area, they also need to connect their maps using the Geo Scanners.

Geo Scanners are antennas located throughout Arcadia-7 that quickly uncover a large area of the map – roughly a 350-meter radius. However, players must activate these scanners and protect them from enemies while they finish scanning.

Blue Vermin emit a poisonous gas that weakens your shields. Quickly shoot them with the Pistol before they get too close, or they’ll disable your defenses and overwhelm you rapidly.

Okay, so you need to find one of those Geo Scanners on the map – they’re marked with an antenna symbol. Once you get close, activate it to start the scan. Be warned though, it makes a really loud noise, and that’s going to draw in anywhere from two to five groups of those pesky Vermin! You gotta be ready for them.

After you finish using them, the Geo Scanners will uncover large sections of the map, showing you important locations. Try to unlock all the scanners to explore as much of Arcadia-7 as you can. Just make sure to return to your base before the Rupture – a world-reset event – or your Pioneer will be destroyed!
