As a big fan of Phasmophobia, I was thrilled to explore the new Nell’s Diner map! It turns out there’s a really cool Easter egg hidden inside, and if you solve it, you get the Ghost in the Machine ID Card. But be warned – it’s not easy! You’ll need to use UV light, crack a safe, and mess around with all the vending machines. Honestly, you’ll probably need a guide to figure out the whole Nell’s Diner Easter egg!
Setup & Requirements
Good news! You can finish this Easter egg on any difficulty level, even custom ones. So, don’t hesitate to make the ghost easier to defeat and give your character unlimited sprint if you like.
It’s a good idea for players to bring a UV light and a flashlight – these are always useful, no matter what upgrades you’ve chosen.
Finding the generator and turning all the lights on will help with this Easter egg.
Unlocking The Safe In Nell’s Diner
Players should enter through the side door, as it’s right next to the manager’s office – the first room on the right. Inside the office, they’ll find a safe that needs to be opened.
Solving The Safe Code
There’s a Post-it board hanging above the safe. Shine a UV light on one of the notes to see three hidden arrows: one pointing down, one up, and one to the right.
The downward-pointing arrow highlights a yellow road sign located where people sit in the diner. The sign features the number 4.
The up arrow can be seen outside under the large sign for Nell’s Diner. It points toward the number 1.
You’ll find a right arrow painted on the wall next to the diner. Follow the arrow past some trash cans, and it will lead you to the number 5.
The code to the safe is therefore 415, and inside, there is a credit card that can be picked up.
Using The ATM & Vending Machines
Okay, so once you’ve got the credit card, the first thing you want to do is leave the manager’s office and immediately turn right. Just keep going straight down that hallway, go through the door at the end, then turn left. The ATM is just a little further down that way – you can’t miss it!
Before you can use the ATM or vending machines, you’ll need to turn on the power by finding the generator.
Insert the card into the ATM by pressing the ‘F’ key, and then take the dollar bill that is dispensed. Turn around and insert the dollar bill into the Mr. Sprinkle vending machine. A coin will fall to the floor, so pick it up.
Controls For Inserting The Card, Bill, & Coin
To insert these items, players cannot simply click as usual. The following controls must be used.
- PC: F
- Xbox: LT
- PlayStation: L2
Put The Coin In The Arcade Machine
Holding the coin, go back towards the Manager’s office, but enter the door on the left side instead. This door leads to a staff room. Inside, you’ll find a black arcade machine. You can start it by clicking on it, and the game title, Lair of the Unliving, will appear on the screen.
When you insert a coin into the arcade game, a skull appears. If players then go outside, they’ll witness a giant skeleton looming over the diner.
Finish The Contract To Unlock The Ghost In The Machine ID Card
After the skeleton ghost appears, players can return to the van to finish the job. Identifying the correct ghost isn’t necessary, but you can try if you want.
Once players finish the contract, they’ll receive a message saying they’ve unlocked the Ghost in the Machine ID Card in Phasmophobia, which finishes the Nell’s Diner Easter egg.
