How To Use Relics In Elden Ring Nightreign

In Elden Ring Nightreign, you can tailor your character in various manners during an expedition, but there’s a unique approach to do so when you’re at Roundtable Hold. Relics serve as the main means for character customization before embarking on an expedition, granting specific abilities and boosts to your character. However, it’s important to note that relics aren’t thoroughly detailed at the game’s outset. Even after grasping their fundamental aspects, there are some vital details to understand to maximize their potential.

How to get Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

Initially, it is important to note that Relics can be obtained and utilized exclusively at the Roundtable Hold within Nightreign. To locate the area for equipping these Relics, navigate towards the central region of the Roundtable Hold and scan the circular walls for a hollowed-out spot featuring blue candles. Upon discovering this location, approach it closely, engage with the altar by selecting “Perform Relic Rites,” and you will be presented with the option to manage your Relics.

As a gamer, once I navigate to the Relics menu, I can switch between all the character classes I’ve already unlocked, which starts off at six by default. During my Nightreign adventure, I get the chance to unlock an extra two classes, bumping up the total to eight! Once these new classes are unlocked, they magically appear in my Relics menu, ready for me to try out!

On the left side of your screen, you’ll notice three colorful spaces beneath each of your character classes. These represent relic slots. On the opposite side, you can observe all the relics at your disposal.

You can get Relics by buying them from the NPC in the Small Jar Bazaar located at the Roundtable Hold or by earning them after completing each Nightreign expedition. In most cases, you’ll receive several Relics as a reward for embarking on an expedition, even if you die during it. The rewards screen will appear just before your return to the Roundtable Hold, showing you what you earned at the end of every run.

At the Small Jar Bazaar, there are two options for obtaining the relics: you can buy them directly, or you could opt for a Scenic Flatstone item which has a chance of containing a relic. The currency used at the Small Jar Bazaar is Murk, and you earn it from expeditions. The longer and more fruitful your expedition, the greater the amount of Murk and potential relics you’ll receive as rewards.

How to use and equip Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

Returning to the Relics menu, you’re able to add Relics to each class’s available slots that you’ve unlocked. However, it’s important to place the Relics in the correct color-coded slot. For instance, a Relic with a red gem should be placed in the red Relic slot. This rule applies to blue-, green-, and orange-colored Relics as well.

As a dedicated player, I’ve discovered an exciting feature where we can treat certain in-game items as Relics. These are typically acquired by successfully overcoming the final boss in an expedition. You’ll easily recognize them in your Relics menu by the colored dot on their icon, indicating which color slot they are designed for.

By design, each class in Nightreign comes with distinctly colored Relic slots. For instance, the Guardian class features one red and two orange slots, allowing you to equip one red and two orange Relics specifically for that role. Conversely, the Wylder class sports two red and one blue-colored slot instead.

It is important to understand that a single Relic can be utilized more than once. This implies that simply because you’ve equipped one Relic for a specific class, it doesn’t prevent you from then using the same Relic in another class (provided the color of the slots matches). For instance, if you possess a potent red Relic in Nightreign, you can distribute this Relic across any class that features a red slot.

After placing a Relic into its designated space, you can hover over the icon to view the benefits it provides. Often, these benefits are tailored to certain character classes, although many Relics work well across multiple classes. For instance, the “Night of the Beast” Relic, earned by defeating the first boss in Nightreign, enhances your initial weapon to inflict fire damage. This benefit is particularly effective for melee characters, but may not be as powerful for ranged characters like the Recluse or Ironeye who specialize in non-melee weapons.

Of course, it’s essential to choose Relics that align with the build you’re pursuing for optimal results. For instance, if you’re opting for the Guardian role, selecting Relics enhancing stamina or physical damage would be logical. However, feel free to experiment and adapt your choices according to how you want to play the Guardian character.

How to change Relic color slots in Elden Ring Nightreign

One of the most annoying features of the Relics menu in Nightreign is that at first, you’re only allowed to use the colored slots given by default. This can make it challenging to customize a specific class as desired because you may be unable to employ powerful Relics if their color doesn’t match your available slots.

To alter the color of the Relic slots for every class, simply journey to the Small Jar Bazaar and acquire a special goblet for each character class from there. These goblets enable you to modify the color slots specific to that class. For instance, purchasing the Guardian’s Goblet grants you the ability to adjust the colored slots in the Relics menu for the Guardian. Note that these goblets can be obtained at the shop once you have successfully defeated the first expedition boss, Tricephalos, in Nightreign.

Absolutely, these goblets include pre-made colorful sections, which means you can’t customize them personally. However, it provides an option different from the standard slots. Each class goblet costs 1,200 Murk at the Small Jar Bazaar. Once purchased, make your way to the Relic Rites area.

In the ‘Relics’ menu, find the class associated with the goblet purchase, then look for the small white arrow pointing down directly below the colorful slots. Clicking this will enable you to toggle between the Guardian’s Urn (with default slots) and the Guardian’s Goblet (with your new slots). The goblets significantly change the available relics as the Guardian’s Goblet provides two blue and one green slot compared to the Guardian’s Urn, which offers one red and two orange slots.

In the course of playing Elden Ring Nightreign, you’ll find that you can collect additional Relic slot sets as you advance. However, at the outset of the game, goblets are the sole choice for you.

As a dedicated fan, experimenting with fresh Relics, shuffling them, and strategically deciding on the skills and enhancements for every class is a crucial element in the advancement cycle and character development of Nightreign within the Living Lands. Always remember to fully leverage this feature throughout your journey!
