One of Donkey Kong Bananza’s standout traits is its destructible terrain, which adds a unique twist to gameplay. However, this feature also makes finding every last collectible a challenging task. With items now hidden beneath the ground and tunneling being essential for navigation in certain areas, determining where to excavate can sometimes feel like an insurmountable task.
In the game Donkey Kong Bananza, players can benefit from Donkey Kong’s Hand Slap skill in multiple ways, not just for item gathering. This skill functions as a useful sonar too! Activating it will illuminate objects within your proximity, even if they are hidden behind solid terrain, making the search for Banandium Gems and Fossils much more manageable. It also reveals chests, though since these appear at random, it’s not quite as advantageous.
How to Use Sonar in Donkey Kong Bananza
Initially, DK possesses a useful Sonar ability that he can activate by doing a Hand Slap move. This action not only grabs nearby items but also momentarily reveals any hidden objects beneath the ground within its limited range, such as Banandium Gems, Fossils, and challenge entrances. However, it’s important to note that the Sonar’s initial range is quite small, making it less effective for discovering objects further away.
In simpler terms, you can enhance DK’s Sonar capability by acquiring the “Better Sonar” skill in the Skill Tree. This enhancement significantly extends DK’s Sonar range with each level-up, reaching a 160% increase when fully upgraded. Additionally, during Kong Bananza, you can boost DK’s Sonar even more by equipping Pauline with a Lagoon Vest, which can be obtained in exchange for Fossils at the Style Shop in the Lagoon Layer. Although this bonus is exclusive to Kong Bananza, it can be incredibly beneficial when navigating challenging locations, given that Kong Bananza excels at destroying terrain.
As a fervent admirer, I’d excitedly express that DK’s Sonar illuminates Banandium Gems, Fossils, and Challenge Entryways. It additionally reveals Treasure Chests and any nearby Banandium Chips, which can occasionally prove quite useful!
