How to Use the Morning Glory Garden in Yakuza Kiwami 3

Some players of Yakuza Kiwami 3 might be puzzled by the Morning Glory Vegetable Garden, particularly if they’re focused on fighting. But taking the time to manage the garden is actually quite satisfying – it helps Kiryu connect with the Morning Glory kids and also provides a good source of income.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about gardening in Yakuza Kiwami 3. We’ll cover what your crops need to grow, how to use fertilizer and scarecrows, and how to upgrade your garden so you can become a skilled gardener.

How to Manage the Garden in Yakuza Kiwami 3

Know How to Use Fertilizer, Scarecrows, and Crops!

You can grow 10 different crops in the Morning Glory Garden, but each one needs a specific amount of space and improved soil to plant. These crops produce different ingredients, and they all take varying amounts of time to grow and harvest – see the details below.

Crop Required Soil Level Time to Harvest
Potato Level 1 2 minutes
Onion Level 1 4 minutes
Carrot Level 1 2 minutes
Tomato Level 1 8 minutes
Goya Level 1 5 minutes
Spinach Level 2 5 minutes
Daikon Level 2 8 minutes
Cabbage Level 3 8 minutes
Pumpkin Level 4 11 minutes
Strawberry Level 5 15 minutes

Pests can damage your crops, reducing your harvest. Placing a Scarecrow helps protect your plants for an extended period. You can place a Scarecrow by going to “Tend Vegetable Garden”, then “Manage Garden”. Plus, upgrading your Scarecrow can actually give you a bigger harvest!

Different plants grow at different rates. If you want to speed things up, go to the “Tend Vegetable Garden” menu and choose “Add Fertilizer.” Using Fertilizer will immediately shorten the growth time of your plants, and you can use as much as you need!

Okay, so I found out you can get Scarecrows and Fertilizer in a couple of ways. I can either buy them straight up at the Morning Glory General Store, or I can try my luck with Winnie-Wie-chan’s raffle over at the Kariyushi Market. Fingers crossed for a win!

How to Upgrade the Garden in Yakuza Kiwami 3

Get More Plots & Crops!

To improve your garden and grow better crops like Strawberries and Pumpkins, you’ll need to upgrade it. Upgrading requires Funds, which are different from the Yen Kiryu earns. You can get Funds by shopping at the Morning Glory General Store.

You can earn money by completing tasks posted on the bulletin board – these usually involve helping the children or growing crops for your neighbors. Once you’ve saved enough money, you can improve your vegetable garden by selecting the “Tend Vegetable Garden” sign, then choosing “Manage Garden” and finally “Upgrade Soil / Expand Garden.” Each upgrade costs more than the last – a Level 2 upgrade costs 20,000 Yen, while a Level 5 upgrade costs 50,000 Yen, increasing by 10,000 Yen per level.
