How to Use the X-Ray in Quarantine Zone The Last Check

In the game Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, the X-Ray machine is a powerful tool that lets you examine survivors for infection by checking their organs. It can be tricky to identify symptoms at first, as you only start knowing what one symptom looks like. This guide will help you understand how to use the X-Ray and show you all the different signs of organ damage to watch for.

How To Use The X-Ray In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

Using the X-Ray is straightforward: press and hold the left mouse button (on PC), the right trigger (on Xbox), or R2 (on PlayStation) and move the screen to examine the body for any damaged or unusual organs. You can also switch between different viewing modes using the scroll wheel (on PC), or by pressing RB + Y (on Xbox) or R1 + Triangle (on PlayStation).

There are four view settings, and the pictures below show how they should look when healthy:

Base

Shows all organs at once.

Low

Shows the upper organs, making the bottom clear.

Top

Shows the lower organs and brain, making the top clear.

All

Doesn’t show any organs, making it ideal for spotting contraband.

This is significant because you can only view the brain when in Top mode, and other organs are better seen using either Low or Top mode.

As a player, I’ve found you can get a closer look at things by using the right mouse button (or the left trigger/L2 button on a controller). And just like with a lot of other items in the game, it’s a good idea to check things out from behind too – it can give you a better view!

An Example Of Healthy Organs

All X-Ray Organ Symptoms In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

Once the X-Ray ability is unlocked, players will initially only be aware of the Internal Bleeding symptom. They can discover additional symptoms by performing lab tests, which then adds those symptoms to their diagnostic chart.

Here are all 5 possible organ symptoms to look out for in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check:

Internal Bleeding – Sickness

  • Organ bleeding from every vessel, red and scar-covered.

Internal Bleeding can be a bit hard to spot, as it looks different on each organ.

Color Differences – Sickness Or Infection

  • Non-standard organ colors.

Once players learn the normal colors of healthy organs, it’s simple to identify unhealthy ones, which often appear a pale purple.

Moldy Organ – Infection

  • Organ covered with green/blue spores or mold.

If you spot a organ with this color and small bumps, this target is infected and should be killed.

Fatty Hepatosis – Sickness

  • Common fatty hepatosis is caused by a poor diet.

The organ will be yellow and look like it’s rotting, but it doesn’t imply infection.

Organ Necrosis – Infection

This has black splotches.

If the person’s organs look normal in color – not purple, blue, or spotted with black – they are likely healthy.

Spotting Internal Contraband With The X-Ray In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

A few days into the game, you’ll learn that survivors are hiding items inside their bodies. You can detect these hidden items using the X-Ray scanner on the ‘All’ setting (which doesn’t show organs). If you see something suspicious, mark it by pressing E (on keyboard), X (on Xbox), or Square (on PlayStation) while the X-Ray is active. Marked items will appear highlighted in orange.

Once your new teammate arrives, they will take the prohibited item. Approach the person in the white hazmat suit carrying a tray and activate the prompt to have them remove it. The item will then be placed on the tray, allowing players to seize it.

Don’t confiscate food found inside the survivors.

Metal Detector

The initial metal detector can be improved to also find explosives and drugs. If it alerts and the person isn’t carrying a bag or anything obviously concerning, an X-ray scan should be conducted.
