HoYoverse is letting players test its upcoming life simulation game, Petit Planet, with a new closed beta! You can sign up for the ‘Stardrift Test’ and pre-register now on the official Petit Planet website.
The creators of Genshin Impact are launching a new game called Petit Planet, and it’s taking cues from popular, relaxing life simulation games like Animal Crossing. Players will find themselves in a vibrant world filled with adorable animal characters they can get to know. HoYoverse has revealed that Petit Planet will feature activities like decorating your home, farming, and mining. Now, players are getting an early look at the game before it officially launches.
Petit Planet Is Getting a New Closed Beta Test
HoYoverse has announced a new beta test for their upcoming game, Petit Planet, with sign-ups now open! Interested players can pre-register on the official Petit Planet website and complete a short survey to apply. The survey asks about your gaming experience – including other HoYoverse games and life simulation titles – and what kind of device you plan to use. If accepted, you’ll be able to play the beta on PC or mobile, and HoYoverse will also be giving away early access through their social media. The beta test is scheduled to begin on April 21st.
Early looks at Petit Planet show players will have lots to do! The game’s website introduces some of the first characters you’ll meet, like Yunguo the Cultivator and Harpeno the Route Patrol Officer. HoYoverse highlights that Petit Planet is a life simulation game where you can create your own music, customize the world, and explore magical areas called the Starsea. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
The latest beta test for Petit Planet will be many players’ first opportunity to try the game, though a small group of fans have already had a preview. Developer HoYoverse ran a limited “Coziness Test” in September 2025, and confirmed that progress from that initial test won’t transfer to future tests – players will have to start fresh. HoYoverse hasn’t announced how long this new test, called the Stardrift Test, will last.
