As a dedicated gamer and follower of the indie gaming scene, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing Humble Games grow from a small publishing label into a respected name in the industry. Their commitment to supporting independent developers and bringing unique titles to players around the world has always resonated with me. So, when I heard reports of their alleged closure, my heart sank.
Humble Games has announced that they are not shutting down, but rather making some changes to how they run their business.
Based on previous reports, the company allegedly let go of all its employees and is now considered to have closed down completely.
First reported by XboxEra (and sent to us, too), a Humble Bundle Press Representative said,
During the economically tough conditions for independent game publishing, Humble Games has chosen to undergo significant changes in our company structure. This choice was not made lightly; it required extensive deliberation and consideration, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding our developers and ongoing projects. Rest assured, this adjustment will not affect Humble Bundle’s operations in any way.
At present, the precise number of employees impacted and the specifics of the restructuring are yet to be clarified.
