As a long-time fan of Hunt: Showdown, I am beyond excited for the upcoming 1896 expansion! The new Mammon’s Gulch biome in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado promises to deliver an entirely new experience with its verticality and unique compounds.
Crytek announced in a recent press release and trailer that Hunt: Showdown, with the subtitle “1896,” is set to debut on August 15, 2024. This release will bring about a fresh and revamped gameplay experience for players.
Hunt’s saga continues with Crytek announcing that the upcoming instalment is titled “1896.” This new installment introduces an entirely fresh Mammon’s Gulch landscape nestled within the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, offering increased vertical challenges.
Based on the title, it’s logical that time will advance as well. Additionally, Mammon’s Gulch is referred to as “the initial map” by the developers, suggesting there may be additional maps introduced by Crytek in the future.
After the game’s release, Crytek announced that fans could anticipate improved and revived versions of the original maps. However, they didn’t specify an exact date for these updates. A sneak peek into Mammon’s Gulch was given to fans through a new trailer, but no gameplay was shown.
Last week, Hunt: Showdown from 1896 received an ESRB rating, hinting at the upcoming major next-generation update. Crytek, however, hasn’t yet announced any new features accompanying this update.
Currently, the creator has disclosed that the expansion, Mammon’s Gulch, will incorporate sixteen distinct substances, ruined towns set ablaze, ominous mines filled with unimaginable terrors, and novel perils. Furthermore, it will present a wealth of fresh vantage points, as well as lush forests and towering hilltops.
Beginning August 15, 2024, supporters will no longer be able to play the original Hunt: Showdown on last-generation consoles using CRYENGINE 5.11.
