As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Breaker was unveiled last month in an early access format, and the creators have given us a sneak peek into what we can expect throughout this month up until April as part of the game’s early access development plan.
The first content drop is scheduled for February 18, where a new character and more are planned.
Hyper Light Breaker Early Access Roadmap Lists What’s To Come

We have the first one lined up, with plenty more on the way from our studio. Be sure to stay tuned for next week’s announcements and get a glimpse into our upcoming game content releases.
Hyper Light Breaker First Content Update Set for February 18
The update will bring:
- New playable Breaker in Ravona
- New SyComs for the new Breaker
- New enemies including a new Elite enemy
- New Holobytes like the “Hunter’s Mark” and more
- New Affixes
- Performance updates
- Combat and gear rebalance (includes increasing the rate of rare gear drops in the Overgrowth)
- Quality-of-life improvements like slowing the pacing of the Danger Meter
- Bug fixes
In April, we’re planning a significant content overhaul called “Buried Below”, but for now, the specifics about it remain confidential.
Additionally, we’re also preparing a new version called the “Summer Edition” roadmap, which we plan to unveil in May.
There hasn’t been any announcement about a console edition of the game, but given that Heart Machine is working on version 1.0 of Hyper Light Drifter, I have reason to believe we might learn more about their plans soon.
Take a look at our early access evaluation of Hyper Light Breaker, where we highlight that even in its Early Access stage, the game showcases its exceptional features powerfully. The gameplay is well-structured with intense combat that’s incredibly rewarding. It successfully creates an enjoyable multiplayer roguelite experience, offers a vibrant, randomized open world, and balances upgrades effectively so they never feel excessively powerful. All this is achieved while maintaining stunning visuals and engaging in subtle storytelling without dialogue.
